Is it possible to not get moderated on this site?

My last moderation was in nov 2007. I don't plan on getting moderated anymore. =P I also help others when it comes to staying out of trouble. If you post something that's mod worthy and I'm around I'll be sure to tell you to fix your mistake. This helped me win the OTcars award (user who should be a mod) two years in a row (2008, 2009) =P2ndWonder

I haven't been modded in awhile but you basically have to keep yourself super strict and boring :(

I get moderated ALL the time. Mostly for insulting other users and saying things to provoke others :PIantheone

Well it's entirely possible to not get modded here. I have a fair amount of posts and if my memory serves me correctly I got two moderations.

One for disruptive posting, that was in time when we had here some massive glitches which made words melt together. I just clicked submit and closed the web browser before checking out the final message.

And the second was for some fierce argue. I don't remember the details but I knew I'd get moded for that specific reply.

As you see it's doable.

I haven't had a serious moderation in over a year now. That's pretty good considering my history... and the fact the two boards I visit most are OT and SW (where moderations, I assume, are the easiest to receive due to the highly opinionated nature of the content).

I've had two. The first was for posting in a suicide thread, that also got me suspended. The other was cuz my sig was too revealing beneath the waist, which was justified I hadn't noticed how exposed the lowers were originally :P proved she isn't a man though.

That's why I post my game-related questions in the platform boards...that way, I can avoid Gamefaqs altogether, and still get my question answered.:)

If I had posted something like that and a user had asked me to remove it, I would. My concerns are that people tend to exaggerate and outright lie in these threads. Honestly, when someone says that they've received a moderation they disagree with, I take a look with an open mind in hopes that if we made a mistake we can fix it. I've gotten reversals for several users because of threads like this. In my mind, if you lie about a moderation in a thread like this, we aren't really abusing our 'power' to set the record straight, and in this guy's case, I even encouraged him to ask about his latest one in Ask the Mods. In any case, I participate in threads like this in hopes that the more we communicate with you guys, the less you'll see us as some sort of power hungry internet tough guys.rragnaar

So , what do you think about a pic of a botfly larvae being removed from an eyelid in the thread 'most horrible animals' or 'most disgusting animals' (I don't know it was something like that) , it was labeled as offensive. :(

I think that most people don't want to see a doctor removing an insect from someone's eye. The images are fairly gruesome. I wasn't the acting moderator, but I agree with it. The advice I'd give going forward would be to put the image in spoiler tags and have a description available in your post so that people aren't just scrolling down a thread and seeing an insect being pulled out of someone's eye. Then they can click on it with some knowledge as to what they are getting into.:)

Yeah, all but 1 of my moderations are from Gfaqs. The majority of my moderations have left me with no clue as of to why it was modded but I just figure "oh well" and then I dont post for a few months. Which is why I wish they would give you more info then "Gfaqs reason, Gfaqs action".
