I'm not much a man of faith, and I am aware of the cruel world we live in, but I still ask the question. Is it right to hurt people that you deem worthy of the infliction? I think most of us will quickly say yeah, but wait a minute, and actually imagine yourself smashing the daylights out of some bully. Then think for a moment, does this make me a bad person too? Does this make me no better than this bully? I don't like the idea of someone doing something bad, and not being punished for it, but (and I don't really believe in things after-life related) what if we get judged or something of the sort in the after-life. Like what if when we die- hypothetically, we are somehow judged morally overall as a person in a second, and it turns out that physically brutalizing or even killing a "bad" person was a bad thing to do...? What gives us the right to believe that "we" are right, in making that choice?
