Despite that this will probably devolve into nothing more than debate about is abortion right or not, know that this is not the original intent of my post. I believe a baby starts living once it is no longer a parasite on it's mother. With my solid belief that won't be argued any time soon out of the way, I'll get onto the story.

So my psychology teacher discusses politics a lot. I mean a LOT! I had to check what class I was in first day because was just watched political speeches. I'm in high school by the way. So we were discussing issues, and she says these words which really catch my attention. "I don't think there's a single person who's for abortions." I just muttered to myself that I find nothing wrong with it. Well she heard me and just kinda stares at me like "What the hell did he just say?" and started arguing it. She gets so raged by the argument though that I don't actually get to say anything much.

I should of seen this coming from the teacher that gave a whole speech over how I shouldn't say "Jesus Christ!" so randomly, but what really makes me so annoyed is the class glaring at me like I'm evil. I know I'm arguing a sensitive topic, but I'm not sick for being on this side of the fence, am I? Just the way she said it was so confident no one out there was like this, you'd swear I'd just said terrorism was ok.

I argue with her on politics occasionally and she really is interesting, but this just really is bugging me. Am I the only one who argues abortion as not only necessary but a good thing? A medical advance to truly help us? It's not like our world needs more population anyways, especially not to unwanting parents.

It's never a parasite on its mother, considering it meets absolutely none of the definitions of "parasite."

Anyway, most pro-choicers say they don't like abortion, so yeah, support for abortion is kinda out of the norm.

While I am against abortion (Unless its a rape case) I do not think the teacher was right in yelling at you for your personal beliefs.

First off, shame on your psychology teacher for discussing politics. They're teachers, not politicians. Politicians are the last people we need in our classrooms. Secondly, I honestly don't see how you can view abortion as a good thing, at least from a moral standpoint. However, I wouldn't call you out on that if I were her.

I think it be hard to find anyone who was pro abortion as if they support a women right to have one after the other, but when it comes to special cases like rape, or a young teenage mistake then I support it, but never would I support someone who does it likes its normal. Which I might mention is one reason why Im defiantly not voting McCain/Palin

I guess parasite is more the term I use if I want to piss someone off, but what i mean is while it's completely dependant on it's mother and living off the mother's food and such, while it's inside of her.

But I'm not here to argue that. I'm just finding it weird that I got such glares and stares. And I hate the term "pro-something" as most of that something is not something we're against, it's a very general term to make yourself sound better. Example, no one is "anti-life" but when we say pro-life, we're talking a much different topic than living.

Yeah. The 2 people took the risk, if you have sex then you should be ready for a child. Its your problem that you got pregnant, dont kill the baby to take the easy way out. It just sickens me. Rape children are the only case that I could be pro-abortion. The girl didnt want to have sex, and its not her fault. While I dont particularly think the girl should go to an abortion clinic to get the child terminated, I could understand if she did.

Well, hardly anybody morally supports abortion, especially in America, where the majority want it illegal, so yeah, expect some glares and stares.

Abortion has other means besides the killing of an unborn fetus. To abort a life would constitute murder.

different question. but seeing how you view any killing any form of life to be murder then i ask you if you ever have killed a spider? it's a small living organism that exists in this world only to keep existing like us. Only it has intelligence, an embryo does not. or is a living thing only worth saving if it is of our species?

Your still missing the point. Abortion and murder have other definitions besides their current legal meanings. The word abortion has been around for hundreds of years, yet only in the last fifty or so years has it come to mean the termination of a pregnancy. The original definition of abortion has not been replaced by this new definition. It is the exact same way with murder. Murder in its plainest form means to kill another human being, the legal issue is just something that has been attached to the word over time.

The only difference is that a spider is a spider and an embryo is a human being. Just a minor difference really

This is my view,

If abortion wasn't legal people would go to Mexico or use coathangers (its real, look it up)

And if the woman wants an abortion, chances are that she has no money and cant take care of the child

Or maybe if abortion wasn't legal, women would be more careful about not getting pregnant. Imagine that!

I'm not here to discuss this, I already said in the first post my stance, and my stance is that what's being aborted is a thing that I don't count as life. Sorry if this offends you. The difference between abortion and murder is one is on something that exsist in the world with will and a mind, the other is on something thats exsistance is only on it's mother's exsistance.

[QUOTE="SaugaGames"]No one is really pro abortion, are they? Isn't pro choice more the idea? Being pro abortion just sounds disturbing.kittykatz5k

I'm hard on the facts, I don't hide behind meaningless terms like "pro choice" or "pro life".

No, you just refer to the human fetus as a parasite "just to piss people off."

Imagine that!

good luck with that

They think it wont happen to them, then look what happens

we need improved sex-ed and keep the current abortion laws standing

I'm hard on the facts, I don't hide behind meaningless terms like "pro choice" or "pro life". It's just sparkle and glitter thrown on an often shunned topic to gain more support.

So youre all for people taking risks and "Oh wow, Im preggo... Lets kill it!"... You'd be fine with that? Wtf dude... Thats sick.

I'm not here to discuss this, I've stated what I need to.

It's everyone's choice and I'm not going to condone you for being for something I believe strongly against. It's your choice.

"So be it, Jedi." That's my thoughts.

kittykatz5k

Well it is your choice to kill someone. Does that mean you should be allowed to?

The only real difference between abortion and murder is that abortion goes unpunished.

Wait wait waaaaiiittttt..

The mother got prego. Once it's an embryo, it is considered "alive." That's practically murdering someone as if they were here on earth.
