I am not a child by any means, but I enjoy movies such as "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" and "The Incredibles".

My question is, what do you think of non-kids watching (and enjoying) kids movies?

In the past, kids movies were all about kids. Now however, there seems to be more adult oriented humor added to the child oriented films.

I don't see anything wrong with liking kids movies, some of them are quite fun.

I don't think there is anything wrong with liking "kids" movies, we were all at one point children and it's fun to just give in and feel like a kid again. There is also a lot more for adults to enjoy in these movies as well, because they are the ones taking the kids to the theater.

Nothing wrong with it. Most of today's "kid's" movies are catered so that kids and adults can both enjoy them. Some kid's movies have jokes in them that only adults would get to.

I would say night at the museum, the incredibles, a lot of pixar type movies and the disney movies like bambi are actually family movies.

Kids movies are more like tinkerbell were the humour is on a level of people farting and is targeted solely for kids enjoyment.

It depends on the movie, to be honest.

Nothing really wrong with it. A lot of kids movies are designed to appeal to adults as wel anyway, since they're the ones who have to sit and watch them for their kids' sake

Nothing wrong with it at all. Most kids movies have content that appeals to adults since kids are not seeing these movies by themselves...unless the kids are that mature >.>

I would agree with you except for the fact Ben Stiller is in the first movie, and I am getting annoyed with him.

Only if you were never, at any point, a kid.

Nope. TBH i think you could take the general plot of a lot of kids movies and find the same in an 'adult' movie. Most mainstream adult movies aren't more complex or mature.

"Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up." - C.S. Lewis nuff said.

No, most "kids" movies are now family movies (everyone can enjoy). And some like Beauty and the beast & TS3 are loved more by adults.

I'm seeing Rango tomorrow, and I'm 20 (heard good things about it).:P

this, the movies you listed are more of family movies which can be enjoyed by any body, you mentioned the incredibles which is a pixar movie and pixar's bread and butter is family movies that everyone can enjoy, heck i remember a nfl analyst saying they thought that ratatouille should be in the running for best picture in the year it came out

Family Movie =/= Kid's Movie.

If you are watching Purple Fairy Playhouse at an adult age and there are not kids in the room i would probably ask if you had a problem. Stuff like the examples you gave are perfectly fine.
