I know Marshall is a big douche, and probably a crappy father, but I like a lot of his songs.

So, anyone know less popular, probably better rap artists?

The reason I ask this is because it seems he gets a lot of hate as an artist.

If you like him then just listen his music. Why does it matter what anyone else thinks?

Of course not.

He's my favorite rapper ever. It's probably cause his CD was my first ever, but still. He's witty and has good lyrics, he does all types of songs, and he can be an amazing lyrcist when he wants to be.

It's not wrong to like Eminem. I hate when people bring other issues into their tastes. (I don't think that sentence made sense, let me elaborate).

He may or may not be a good father. He may or may not be a nice person, etc. I listen to him for his music.

For Example: A friend of mine said, "How can you like Tom Cruise? He's such a weirdo!". I said "He's an actor and he makes good movies. What he believes off-screen doesn't make Collateral and M:I 3 any less awesome".

Just had to get that out there. Long story short...Go ahead and like him, if you like him.

I'm not that big of a fan but the man has done some great work. I particularly like what I've heard off Infinite and random tracks like his Benzino disses and Renegade on Jay-Z's Blueprint album are hot.

I didn't know he quit to be with his kid, but up until then he didn't ever seem like a good father.

What I do know for sure is that the guy is a giant douche. I can tell that just by listening to his lyrics.

But thing is, sometimes it's a good thing to act like a giant douche, especially towards the right people.

What lead you to believe his a bad father in the first place? Almost everyone of his songs mentions how he's a F'd up man but that he'll kill for his daughter and how much he loves his daughter.

I think Eminem is a bit overrated. Back in 2000 the Marshal Mathers Lp was the first CD many young people in this generation listened to and bought on their own and that attachment is what makes them call him the greatest. I think that there are many rappers better than him lyrically, but I will admit that he has an unorthodox and cool delivery that makes it hard not to like him.

Well it's probably his lyrics. Often, they bring about the tone that he doesn't know how to raise her, but I don't know if that was about the past or how he currently is.

It's not wrong. I find it kind of weak though.

I'd recommend The Roots, The Herbalizer and DJ Shadow. Good Hip-Hop! :3

Most of the time he's doing something called "joking" and those are on his "joke" songs. But when you listen to his serious songs it's a cliche for him to mention how much he cares about his daughter and what he'd do for her.

And why would it be wrong, Eminem has amazing energy in most of his songs.

It just seems in some he's confused. I can't really judge, I don't know how to raise a kid, but I usually take his lyrics as he doesn't know what to do sometimes.

Eminem is not the best rapper alive or ever existed. Don't forget Tupac and all those hardcore Emcees/rappers back then. Eminem would probably destroy every today's mainstream rappers. You know who i'm talking about, idiots such as Lil'Wayne, Soulja Boy, Lil'Jon and so on. Yet again, there are many great emcees underground waiting to recieve attention. And as soon they get through, they'll take over Eminem and everyone else.

I don't think any man will know all the best ways to raise a daughter. Anybody who has a daughter will be confused on what to do because it's a tough responsibility, they all make mistakes in it. I think Eminem has proven that all though he may not know all the perfect decisions, just as any other man, and especially given the situation he is in as a famous rap star and in a legal fight with his wife, he has only acted on his best and most selfless instincts.

I didn't say Tupac is overrated. What i mean was Tupac and many great rappers back in the 90's are the best in Hip Hop history that nobody could ever get pass em. Don't forget we had great albums and rappers such as Nas, Big Pun, Big L, Tupac ,Biggie, Fat Joe(Obviously sucks now), Jeru the Demaja and many more.

I don't think it's wrong. at the same time I don't know what to make of the song Kim. I love the energy in it yet isn't it weird to write that about your gf/wife? I dunno but I do like his music and listen to it because of that.

Of course not. With music, and actors you kinda have to throw most, most of their actions out the window. I love Nirvana, but abhor suicide. And the list goes on and on. They make art we like, nothing more.

I know Marshall is a big douche, and probably a crappy father, but I like a lot of his songs.

So, anyone know less popular, probably better rap artists?

The reason I ask this is because it seems he gets a lot of hate as an artist.

-TheSecondSign-

I don't think he's a douche at all. And as far as I can tell he shows a lot of love for his daughter.

Lyrically, no one is better than Em.

And all the hate he gets is from those who hate rap in general. Any rapper will say that he is one of the best ever.

I just hates the fact that everybody let's say hardcore rock fans and such have only listenened to Eminem and think he is probably the best rapper they know of while they never ever heard of any great rappers such as Nas, Big L and so on. Give credits to the real rappers out there not saying Eminem is one though not racist because i am not white myself but people think african americans only make music about bling bling while Eminem the american is being lyricist. Come on, give the real emcees credibility for this.

I think Eminem is the only good rapper out there. I do not like rap at all i hate when ppl play it and i think it just sounds bad. But when i here Eminem it is just different and i can listen to it, i just like how he raps about his life and the things going on in it and its meaningful, rather then the other rap songs that just talk about dancing in clubs and use the word shortie every line. If that is how you spell it.

I know Marshall is a big douche, and probably a crappy father, but I like a lot of his songs.

So, anyone know less popular, probably better rap artists?

The reason I ask this is because it seems he gets a lot of hate as an artist.

No, it's not wrong to like his music if you connect with it. So what if other people don't like him. You shouldn't care.

As far as less popular and better rap artists, yeah...there are a lot. I haven't really followed rap since 2002, but I could name several SoCal rappers that were less popular and yet more talented than Eminem...more talented than a lot of other popular rap artists, for that matter.

If that is how you spell it.StartARiot7

Eminem is far from the only rapper that rap about his life. Nas, 2Pac, Kool G Rap, Rakim??? Just a few examples. Eminem is by no means the only rapper that raps about personal issues in his songs.

Oh, and you bash other rappers for making "Club" songs, but have you seriously heard some of Eminem's material like "Ass Like That" "Shake That Ass" or "Fack"? Eminem raps about the same stuff that a typical garbage mainstream rapper raps about.

To the TC, no, it isn't wrong to like Eminem. I'm a huge rap fan and I'm not a fan of Eminem, I think there are much better rappers and I personally find him to be the single most overrated rapper of all time, but hey, listen to what you want to.

Well i only ever heard of 2Pac and could not name 1 of his songs but whenever i hear a rap song there are mostly about the same thing if i can understand what their saying. And yea i know Eminem made songs like that i really dont like them they are just not that good to listen to i like"like toy soliders" and "mocking bird" "stan" that talk about his life.
