Is my friend a liar? Can I ever trust him again?

I just learned my friend Mike has been lying to me for years. I just found out his name is Michael, not Mike! Why would he lie to me? Is he a habitual liar? If I can't trust him to be honest about his name, can I trust him about anything? Should I confront him about his deception? Should I never speak to him again? Help!
