Is my mom screwing me over?

Heads out of the gutter and this is what she told me: we can get Comcast internet if you

a) start mowing the lawn

b) pay 30 bucks each month

c) pay half of the installation fee we had ALMOST 8 FRIGGEN MONTHS AGO( so I'd be paying $150)

I don't have a job and it feels like she's just milking me because I want it

initially it was just mowing the lawn, but she argued that the she has to buy and spend gas for the lawn mower which cancels out me doing it 30 bucks is really 40 because I pay 10 bucks for texting each month, as well. I don't do much around the house in all honesty, but for a decent internet connection, I dunno.

I'd change the title of the post, but she's the boss of your house so she can do what she wants with the internet.

Plus, you are paying $10/month for texting. That shows you are willing to pay for something you don't need.

Isn't Circuit City or BestBuy running that deal with Comcast anymore? You pay something like $50 for the modem and you get the start-up kit for 1c. Then you mail in a rebate and 12 years later you get your $50 back. You also get Comcast for $19.99 a month for 6 months. After that it jumps back up to $45.

You set-up the internet service yourself.

If you want internet and your mom wants you to pay for it seeing as you'll be the one using it, she's in the right place.

As for texting, in all honesty if you want a cell phone, you should be paying for it.
I hate the parents who get their kids cellphones and pay the bills, unless their kid is stupid with it and goes over their limits...then their parents finally charge them some money.
