Well, he still has a good chance at winning the Democratic Party nomination. He's far enough ahead in the delegate count that he can at least afford to lose some states, assuming they're by narrow margins, like Texas was. Wyoming and Mississippi both have they're primaries coming up in the next week, and he'll likely win both. What he can't do however is lose big in a state like Pennsylvania. He'll need to keep that race very close.

agreed that If Hilary wins the dem nom McCain will win the general election...McCain is a stronger candidate than Hilary is hands down.. I am a democrat and I am more likely to vote for McCain over Hilary. McCain is a very worthy opponent who can only be combated by someone who is of the same fiber of character....The republicans wont be as nice to hilary as obama has been...she has too much dirty laundry that is still fresh in the minds of america to make her a viable choice...Obama is/will win the popular vote..if hilary get the nomination it is because she forced the system to work for her (superdelegates) rather than letting the people be the deciding factor....And democracts across the board will jump ship if they feel cheated in another election and either vote for McCain or Nader...so for the Democratic parties sake..Obama needs to win.

Actually there was I report on CNN that said that 25%of Hillary supporters would vote McCain if Obama won the nomination, and only 15-20% of Obamas supports would goto McCain if Hillary won. So based on that (not sure how reliable) I would say McCain has a better shot versus Obama than Hillary.

Clinton may have won 3 of the 4 states recently, but Obama still is leading the delegate count by almost 100. As for how he would do in a general election against McCain, it is really tough to say, because although most people like to think they would vote for a black president, we will have to wait and see how true that is.

I agree McCain is a strong canidate, but a large portion of this country don't want us in wars in the middle east for the long term, he'll have to tone that down. It will be VERY close whoever the Dem nominee is.

He won't get the nomination.
Anyone who understands how the Democrats nomination process works and understands the true role of the super delegates knows this as well.

Obama will get his turn, just not this year.

It's a shame our option for President will be Hillary or McCain.

Stupid media picking the candidates for both parties this time around.

I don't get this. I vote on policies. Clinton and Obama are very close on most policies and it is the details where they differ. McCain on the other hand is drastically different. Both the Dem candidates want to change health care, the war, tax breaks for the super rich, etc. McCain wants to make tax breaks permanent, keep health care in the hands of companies who's goal is to please stockholders and not the sick people buying insurance, and stay in Iraq with current or perhaps increased troop levels. Oh, and when congress swung democratic again a bunch of regulations were put up about lobbyists and such (still not enough though) and McCain is a huge acceptor of lobby monies.

Personally I would like to see a Hillarly win because I believe they both have strong ideas, and Obama would be a good choice 8 years down the road.

In the end though, people need to vote on policies and get over the gender and color of skin crap. The republicans of the last 20 years have focused on keeping things the same. The democrats have focused on change (heh, except most of Clinton's term was witha republican congress so NOTHING got passed meaning a record surplus... which is good I suppose.). Have you noticed that the US is drastically falling behind the rest of the world in tech developments, value of the dollar, health care, education, list goes on. Not only that but we are the laughing stock of developed countries for our social systems and political leader. Change is NEEDED just to keep up in this world. Any policy focused on keeping things the same is doomed to failure.

I truely feel sorry for you in understanding nothing of the system.

#1 - Those "tax cuts" you gripe about aren't just for the rich. EVERYONE got a tax break with these tax cuts. Also thanks to those tax cuts, those of us who have a 401k have been quite happy over the course of the past several years. You take the capital gains tax away, the 401k's are going to stop growing and possibly go down quite drastically.

#2 - The war isn't going anywhere. At this point it's all political rhetoric for both sides. Think what you want to if it makes you happy, but none of these candidates are going to withdraw our troops unless congress forces budget cuts upon them.

#3 - Our healthcare system is going to be made WORSE than it "supposedly" is. It's honestly still the best system in the world, but still could be better. Too much over-regulation is what's killing healthcare. You're only going to get more of that if you try and nationalize it in any way. Those "companies" you complain about actually do want to help people, but are having to charge people more because of regulation/forced extra coverage for **** Also, the fact healthcare isn't an open market. You cannot live in Minnesota and buy insurance from a company in Texas. You open up the market and make it just like auto-insurance and you'll see HUGE changes.

#4 - Lobbyists are a part of politics for ALL politicians whether you like it or not.

#5 - "Government is best which governs least" -Thomas Jefferson

Also, the truth is, NONE of these candidates is going to fix the economy. They are going to attempt to play god because we have become an "entitlement" society. We feel that we can't have a recession and that it's so wrong for forclosures to happen, so we must fix it. Well guess what, all that "fixing" is just filling up the balloon with more air. We feel we always have to have a fun and happy/prosporous life. At some point that balloon is going to get too full and burst. When that happens, you're looking at not just a tiny recession, but something that could rival/possibly surpass the great depression.

None of the current crop really get this. That's what's sad.

You guys know taxes are the lowest that they've been in a long time, right? Lowest during war time too I believe.

I hope so, Kucinich and Paul were the only others I liked, goodbye to that.wemhim

It's amusing how people are voting for Obama because they want change, yet they never supported Kucinich, Paul, or Gravel. Change my ass.

Ummm... no. Our healthcare system is terrible. We have higher infant death rates and shorter life expectancies than most developed countries. Healthcare is privatized, it's a business. Why do you think so many people go to Canada where there is a universal health care system and affordable medicine? That's why congress passed laws to ban affordable generic medicines being imported from Canada and forcing us to buy name brand stuff from big corporations.

A universal healthcare system would be great. Unfortunately, we are into this private system too deep to transistion to a government sponsored system overnight. Britain did it during WW2 and we'd need an equally big event to shake up the system.

[QUOTE="aka_aj03"]we don't want another Republican in the office... McCain got looks of Bush or it can be even worse... Dracargen

A lot of people think all republicans are the same, but they're not.

Agreed, there's Ron Paul.

He was only the best candidate we have had in a long time, but the media can't have that. . .

Seeing Ron Paul's campaign has completely shattered my view on the media. Never have I seen such respected news outlets so openly and unprofessionally attacking the guy. Ron Paul would roll over all the candidates we have now in a debate.
