I think he is. Bush, while njo the best by any means, was not as bad as people say. Obama, meanwhile has gotten away with so much. He's hurt the US's economy more in the first 6 months of his presidency than Bush did in his 8 years in office. Let's just say that when Bush was president, Bill Gates could have singlehandedly paid off the national debt and have a bunch of cash left over. Not anymore. (I'm not saying he should have, I'm just using that as an example.)

I really don't know. I haven't been fond of a president since... well... I've never actually liked a president now that I think about it.

If I were you, I'd probably get that flame shield ready. Anyway, it's not even been a year yet. Making a claim this lofty is nothing short of ludicrous.

No, not even close. Could that change in the future? Maybe, but to label Obama the worst president in U.S. history already is so ridiculous, especially considering how many awful presidents this country has already had, who did things that are just unimaginable.

For those of you who want an example... the debt has more than tripled (or quadrupled, can't keep that straight) since Bush was in office.

I don't think that Bush "got us into a war." I think a terrorist attack that kills more than 3000 people is an act of war. And you can't spend your way out of debt.

Not even close. He's had some really tough things to deal with at this point. Bush at this time had just started to have the really tough choices land on his shoulders (what to do about 9/11) whereas Obama has been having to make tough calls since the start. Imo It's STILL too early to tell whether he is good or bad but right now he seems to be doing pretty decent, he's been focusing on the US foreign relations and their actually pretty good now and Universal health care is a great idea. Bush isn't even the worst though, you have to look pretty far back though to find ones who were worse.

Well as much as I hate to give Bush credit for anything the foreign relations is because of him. Granted Obama has built on his foundations but still.

You can't judge him until his term is over. Things can change too quickly for you to be judging indefinitely.

So far I can't say he's been one of the better presidents, but not the worst either.

Deregulation right? I don't understand why our country fought so hard for regulation in the early part of the 20th century yet later completely removed lots of what had been established. Maybe someone can explain to me...

I know that. You can judge his actions up till this point, which is what a lot of people did with Bush. You can do the same with Obama, but you can't judge Obama's entire presidency until it's over.

You do realize that the best way to get out of a recession is by running a deficit...and while the fiscal situation of the U.S. is very bad, it's not the worst it's ever been. After WWII, the national debt in proportion to GDP was 120% (right now it's about half that), and you don't see many people labeling FDR as the worst U.S. president (of course I don't think that Obama's presidency is going to be anywhere near as successful or well remembered as FDR's was).

sigh. everyone wants instant gratification. It's not even been 1 year yet and people are already demanding that healthcare, the economy, car industry, and 2 wars be fixed. You do realize that things take time. Its not like theirs a "get out of jail free card" for the us. THINGS TAKE TIME. And answering your question, I have a question for you; Have you taken even a basic US history class?

well we can judge what he has already done that has had time to make some progress. However if it has happened in the last month or two you really can't make a call on it just yet. You have to use logic on each thing he has done at this point.

You can't sit still twiddling your thumbs, while hoping the deficit magically goes away. You have to spend money on infrastructure, and programs that will stimulate the economy.

What are you two talking about? Obama is, by and large, maintaining the status quo. Sure he's proposed a few tweaks here and there, and some of the stuff he's proposed is actually substantial reform (reforms that are wanted by most Americans), but he's proposed nothing that justifies calling him a radical. That kind of rhetoric is just intellectually dishonest.

You could have gone a little farther with that. That could have gone all the way by saying he was the antichrist and heralding the way for the four horsemen. You really missed an opportunity there. If I balanced one against the other, I'd rather have a huge debt and more taxes than draconian policies like The Patriot Act and No Child Left Behind.
