Ok, well, I don't have any Pink Floyd albums, I've been wanting to buy one. I was going to get The Wall for one song, which is probably stupid, but Comfortably Numb is one of the most incredible things I've ever heard in my life, but are the other songs on it good enough for the price, or should I buy another album and then just buy Comfortably Numb on iTunes?

The Wall is a big album. You shouldn't forget that. 24 songs is a lot.

you wont like it at first but after a few sessions listening to it, you will apreciate it more. and like someone said, its a bit self indulgent, sometimes you think the writer is a self centered person. and yes it is worth the money.

I got the album on vinyl the other year for like $8, and I got Dark Side for the same price with the original posters included.... Don't pay $20 for the CD at a store, or like $15 that iTunes charges...Get it on vinyl...That's the best way to listen to old music.

It's not worth the money. If you're going to get a Floyd album, go with Meddle.

Yeah..but vinyl denigrates each time it's played.

Well, I could think of better albums to buy, but it's still a pretty decent album. If you want some reccomendations, just ask. :)

They don't break that easily. I've only had one in a period of 20 or so years break on me, out of the hundreds of vinyls I own.

It definitely is, but they have two better albums: Wish You Were Here (their greatest...also has 5 songs, but they're really long lol. Kind of opposite to the Wall with 24 and they're each short compared to their other songs) and Dark Side of the Moon.

Who is talking about breaking? Quality is lost each time that needle scrapes across the vinyl.:|

It's not my favorite Floyd album...I would go with Wish You Were Here personally. Dark Side is the perfect beginner Floyd album.

Yes it is a good album, but if you want the best of Pink Floyd pick up 'Meddle' and 'Animals'.

it's only £8.99 at the mo, but I got it when it was £30. And I'm not atall gutted, because it's such a great album. It's only just a double album, something like 74mins long, and every second is perfect, everynote is just where it should be. "I've got a little black book with my poems in" ...don't know y I said that, bit random, think I'll go and put it on.

Heh, I think Dark Side of the Moon is horribly overrated. I only felt some magic when I listened to it and that was during the song "Money", the rest is just blank in my head. :P

I didn't care for the movie that much though. It gave me a terrible headache.

I'm not a big fan of The Wall, but it is definitely worth the money. Some of their other albums to look at would be Animals (my personal favorite, Dogs is just such an awesome song) and Meddle.

Actually that is completely false. No song from any Pink Floyd album is filler. Filler are tracks that are made for the sole purpose of "completing" an album. They probably don't mean much to the band and not a lot of effort goes into them. They are there for quantity purposes as opposed to quality.

Since every Pink Floyd album is crafted as a single entity, none of their songs are filler. They all contribute to the overall story, theme, what have you in each album. And if you listen to Pink Floyd and just pick out selective songs, you are missing the point. And when you consider the fact that all the songs blend together, its not that easy to distinguish where one song ends and the other one starts.
