I havent played for a while, but my friend, which is 16, still plays the game....

The anime is kinda cool tho :o

It just passed half a million pre-orders in NA...it's not even close to dead.

In fact franchises like GTA are closer to dropping of the face of the planet than Pokemon is.

The +ve effect the DS is having for Nintendo, in Japan at least seems to show the franchise becoming more popular, not less so. Don't believe what you see on the street, because it's not an accurate representation of how many people are playing. The frenzy for the merchandise outside of the core games has died down significantly, but the main titles are as strong as ever, possibly stronger.

my fav. is Emerald..then again,i haven't played many :P 

These will sell like crack in a crackhouse.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl will be one of the best selling games this year.  I have Pearl pre-ordered .... because I miss the days of pokemon :( 

But yeah pokemon is still ultra popular.
