Not at all. If anything the prison in that link is not harsh enough. I would be pissed if a murderer or a rapist went to a resort like that one.longhorn7yea i agree exactly
Compared to what other contries have, the US Penal system is a cakewalk. Why is it that you only hear about repeat offenders in the states, but nowhere else? You don't hear about the "three strikes" law in someplace like Russia...'cause over there, it's one strike is enough.
Wow, if I was having trouble getting a job, I'd probably do something to get sent to that prison.
No, jails here are alright. I'm not sure that the guard training and screening is good enough though.
no.
They should do what singapore does.
BEAN_LARD_MULCH
And what exactly does Singapore do?
I know in Malaysia its very easy to get the death sentance
No. They go there as punishment...its not supposed to be a good experience.Bourbons3
Prison is not meant, or designed to be a punishment, and thats the major reason most prisons fail to deter crime. Trying to punish criminals using the prison system is like trying to discipline your kids with timeouts it just doesn't work for everybody. Most of the time people walk out of prison more dangerous to society then when they walked in. If the prison system is to work we have to focus on rehabilitation instead of punishment. If you want punishment for criminals we should go back to capital punishment cause we all know how well that deters crime .

and the russian strike is them striking you with an iron rod or the butt of an AK47. i think prisoners should be stored in dog cages stackd in a warehouse, spray em with a hose 2 clean em, feed em with protien shake filld paint balls and give them regular beatings 2 make sure they no whos in charge. u could lower sentences for smaller crimes cuz 3 days there would probably make u scared sh*tless of going backbut the serious ones would stay there
People in prison do not deserve what they get. Many of them shouldn't even have any rights. The prison system is too lenient, if anything.
Just don't drop the soap and you'll be fine.Aljosa23
This man is wise. I sence great force in this one.
Idk, I think taking away someones freedom is very harsh. If you break a law, ie felony, you dont get to live in the US anymore.lunney523Our system of law is a joke. The terms convictis are senteced are the equivalent of nothing. If anything, it needs to get much stronger and harsher, not weaker.
The US Prison system isn't harsh enough. It's like a ******* vacation. You get your clothes, your food, TV, free medical care...bebopoutlaw3gun
Are you suggesting we leave prisoners naked, starve them to death, and decline them medical care? Because they certainly won't be able to pay for any of those things themselves, seeing as they aren't working and all. :|
I'm not of the philosophy that treating prisoners harshly is necessary. The goal of prison is to prevent them from being in the general population, and nothing more. Punishing them isn't going to undo their crimes. Of course, you don't want these people living in a state of luxury at the expense of the country's tax-payers, but ensuring that they are treated like humans is what separates us from these criminals. We don't brutalize them because it isn't right. Simple as that.

It's like Red Foreman said "First offense, 10 years in Siberia. Second offense, 20 years. Believe you me, there is NO third offense."
Harsh? Not harsh enough. You kill someone and you stay in a cell for 10 years. In those 10 years you don't have to work, get to watchTV, eat 3 meals a day and havesomewhere to sleepstevendiep_100
... and you experience absolutely nothing in life. Ask yourself if you would like to live your life in a cage with basic cable. I wouldn't.
