Okay, I've recently signed up for five college classes at my community College.

I signed up for the following:

College Composition
College Reading
C lass Guitar 2
Human Sexuality
Introductory Psychology

Out of all of them, I was told that Psychology is the hardest subject. THis reminds me when my sister took psychology last year in high school and she flunked it.

Is it a really hard c lass compared to the other c lasses I'm taking?

I didn't find it particularly hard.  Found it fascinating.  Got an A in it.  :)

EDIT:  I went to a Community College too.

I want to be a psychologist. It isn't all THAT hard, but it is the hardest of alll the classes you chose, IMO. You'll do fine, as long as you write down the big words (there are a lot) and pay attentioin.

I have no idea how I could tell. Most likely differs from school to school and teacher to teacher.

I took AP Psych last year (Junior year, high school) and it was one of the most facinating classes I took.

I took AP Psych in high school, which is probably on par with an introductory psychology class in college, and I got an 87 average I think.  it wasn't too bad.  Interesting material, though.

I'd say devote your time mostly to this course. It's hard, but is doable.

Like any class 80% of it is the professor. The subject material itself isn't infamously difficult though.

Normally it's not very difficult, as long as you pay attention and utilize your resources. Besides, if your psychology teacher is like mine, all you have to do is the work, most of it can be answered solely with your opinion of the facts.

It isn't especially difficult. It depends on who your professor is. Some professors allow you to have an opinion, while others want you to memorize their beliefs word for word.

If you could change it though, I think sociology would be a more relevant class to most people, barring doctors, psychologists, lawyers, and politicians maybe.

I would love to take sociology but I have to be in English 120. I'm gonna be in English 110 (which is 1 step below it). But I do look forward to taking psychology but I just wanted to find out how hard it is so I can be prepared for it. Would there be a lot essay writing, note taking, etc.?

It was surpringly easy, actually. It seemed rather difficult while the professor was teching, but most of the material just sort of stuck anyway. I made an A withC+ level studying.

It mostly depends on the Professor. Psychology is such a broad topic that a teacher that trys cramming it all into a single intro class is going to have alot of confused students. Most of the time an intro Psych class at a CC isn't going to be that difficult, just go to class, and pay attention.

Probably. It is college, after all. And also, psychology is a science, so you will probably be doing experiments and such, though I don't know if they do that in introductory courses.

Thanks. WHen you guys put it that way, I shouldn't worry. On the plus side, if it's too hard or if it doesn't interest me I can always drop it. But I do look forward to taking it, just like the other c lasses.

They may give you mice or some kind of animal for you to study their behavior. But I don't know.

If you're a conceptual person Psych isn't too bad. I suggest keep up with the reading as well. Usually, psych books aren't as hard to read compared to Chem or Bio textbooks. Flash cards help too.

There is lab in upper division psych classes but it's very unlikely that there is going to be lab in this intro class. Good luck

It was hard when I took it. I almost flunked out. I Just came so close to getting a B+, luckily I passed with an A-. The reason it was so difficult for me is because it just had essay questions about how you personally relate to stuff...and your personal views, and it tried to compare things that weren't really related. I did the worst in that class than any other class last year. So, if your is anything like mine was, BEWARE!!!

I'd say depends on the teacher. I got A's mostly because my teachers liked me and they didn't really give a crap.
