So he was part of GnR, big deal. I dont see how he is so popular now days. Does he ever speak?
Maybe its because Im from the UK and hes not that a big of a deal over here than he might be in the US?

He's a real rockstar, how can he be overrated?Aspen706
Real rockstar. Lolno.
Jimmi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones were real rockstars. Slash is not.

Okay I'll admit, those are real rockstars, but slash is a lesser form of a rockstar.:)[QUOTE="iAtrocious"]

I don't take that s***. You're a rockstar or you're not. You can't be a semi-rockstar.
Besides, he doesn't really have epic guitar skills to back up the image he made of himself, contrary to the rockstars I stated. You can't be a respectable rockstar if you just look like one -- hell, if I wanted to, I could look like a Rockstar.
yes slash is a bit overated... I think Tom Morello of RATM is a better guitarist. Even the japanese artis Miyavi is way more talented. But Slash has made himself into a Brand..... btw slash is originally a british....So he was part of GnR, big deal. I dont see how he is so popular now days. Does he ever speak?

I think the look and his skills are enough to put him into rockstar status, I would never claim him to be the best guitarist out there but he's pretty damn good.I think Slash is a brilliant guitarist and here in England he isn't overrated as he is hardly talked about over here
You know that's a little odd considering he was born in England. So he was part of GnR, big deal. I dont see how he is so popular now days. Does he ever speak?

Not really, he doesn't play the hardest things out there but he sounds great and the sound of his guitar is instantly recognizeable.
I think he's overrated, but he suited GNR. They were a "look at me" type of band and he's a "look at me" type of player. He can pull off a nice solo but put him next to someone like Joe Satriani and there's a gulf in talent.
I think he only gets recognition for a few famous guitar riffs. I'm sure he isn't proud to keep having to rehash the same old songs that people are familiar with.
