How is their service because I'm seriously thinking about switching over different carriers. Right now I have Verizon and my contract ended and I was thinking that since Verizon now has a tiered data plan and Sprint has unlimited, is their service any good just like Verizon?

I did the opposite I went from sprint to Verizon. I wS a sprint customer during the whole push to talk thing. I found them to be way overpriced for their service and their reception in my area was extremely shoddy, I live in NY, cell towers aren't an endangered species here yet driving on the southern state was like driving in the sahara.

The reason I'm switching is because Verizon is acting funny with my plan and they want to charge me more for something I don't want. I have a lot of Sprint stores where I live so I hope I'm good to go.

I love sprint! True unlimited data is awesome. I've tethered my Android phone (free via rooted) and had to use it for a month as my primary ISP... 10-20Gigs later, no call from Sprint, no extra charges beyond my monthly bill and still loyal. Plus at $69 dollars, you can call any cell phone from any network for free. You only get 450 minutes for land line calls. I think Spring is an awesome competitor and they have been getting some impressive phones too lately, especially with the iPhone 5 coming too. But it does boil down if the network signal is strong or weak or existing in your area.

I can tell you that Sprint works where Verizon doesn't. And I haven't any complaints about it.

I had sprint on a work phone this summer. Sprint sucks. It didn't have good service (I was in the San Fransisco bay where I would expect great service), and it would drop calls when I was in service.

I have verizon for my personal phone and it is way better.

I've lived in SF for 10 years and had sprint during my years here...I can say I had zero issues. It could have been your handset maybe?

Sprint offers the best service for the price as I recall (partially because they are more desperate than the big 2)

If I was not part of a cheaper family plan(My min cost about 10$) I would have jumped to Sprint

I get mixed reviews about Sprint, my girlfriend uses Sprint and she's fine with it, although their phone selection isn't the greatest. Also, the worst part about Sprint is probably their customer service, I like Verizon's more. I use T-Mobile though, I'm too cheap for your fancy phones.

If you live in a major city Sprint will be good, if you live outside of a big city in a small town the service sucks. I have had Sprint before.

Sprint is the most affordable major name cell phone option. plus no extra charge on internet pricing (no tiered pricing) like ATT and Verizon. Plus they have a nationwide service that works well in most places.

Actual cell service depends on where you live. Mine's been somewhat terrible service since I moved to Arizona because there aren't very many Sprint towers close by. Their service plans are pretty great. though.

I just picked up sprint last December. The price is fantatstic and the service is way better than it was a few years ago. I fortunately live in a 4g area which works great with my Evo but it would suck if you didn't live in a 4g area but had to pay the 10 bucks a month for it.

I had Sprint for more than 10 years, I left. my calls dropped all the time every single time.. I went to VirginMobile(unlimited web and text), calls never dropped not even once, and they use Sprint network... I wouldn't like Verizon either, no more contract phones for me.

You can only access non-sprint towers if you contact sprint and ask them to add you account to use non-sprint towers. If you live in a poor coverage area for example, you can contact sprint and they will enable you to be able to use your service through T-mobile towers.

$99 is their unnlmited everything... They also have $69 for unlimited data and any cell phone network calls. + $10 for smart phones. Also includes free roaming on any other CDMA tower (means no additional fees). It really all depends on the phone you use/buy. I'm very happy with my plan on sprint, but to each their own.

But isn't Virgin Mobile sort of slow with its services? I have a brother who had a Virgin Mobile phone and he hated it. Their service was horrible and he didn't like the way how they handled it.

Its ok, 3g can be spotty but i'm on wifi 90 percent of the time no a huge deal. Call quailty is great, i haven't had any drop calls or any issues of people hearing me. I have had some issues sending texts, some times they don't send.

For only $35 a month, simple problems like that are definitely worth it.

I have slow texting problems with VM too, dont know why it does that.. phone calls are always great, clear, never dropped.. Im only paying $25 a month cuz I signed up at the time bfore they raised the price, cant complain about that. Anyway, Im happy I switched.. if one day I dont like VM for some reason I'll switch to Tr8Talk or something, I really dont ever want contrct phones anymore bottom line.

I have Sprint now but when I lived on the East Coast I had Verizon. Verizon for smaller towns on the East Coast is better.

If you live in major cities or travel along major interstates there really isn't much difference.
