I loved the movie, but the reason I saw it was because the fat guy in knocked up was a main character and I liked him in that movie...
Unfortunately he was a bit disappointing in this one. He was so damn mean to everything and couldn't go 2 sentences without dropping an F-bomb. Still a hilarious movie but I liked Mclovin, the cops, and that kid from Juno better.
That's pretty much all that Shakespeare's humor was about. That doesn't make it stupid.Hell yes it is. It's so gay dude. It's all about penises and sex jokes. I mean it has it's moments but not very many.
It sucks.

I didn't say it was stupid. I said it was gay and that it sucks.
I mean seriously...the part where he talks about drawing penises is just straight up gay.
I mean the movie might be good for you which fine to me but it sure as hell doesn't float my boat.

You're saying that the penis jokes are gay and for that reason, you don't like it?[QUOTE="beedup91"][QUOTE="quiglythegreat"][QUOTE="beedup91"]That's pretty much all that Shakespeare's humor was about. You're saying that the penis jokes are gay and for that reason, you don't like it?Yea pretty much. Listen dude, I'm not going to have a senseless argument about penises and sex jokes. You like penis jokes and I don't. That is all.
Fair enough.Yea pretty much. Listen dude, I'm not going to have a senseless argument about penises and sex jokes. You like penis jokes and I don't. That is all.

i think Mclovin and the cops carried the movie at some parts, but i thought the whole thing was hilarious
it lived up to the hype for me
I was surprised at how well written the characters were. I think McLovin and the cops were the best part of it though. I think Seth and Evan should have laid off the constant swearing though, it got a bit much.AirGuitarist87But that's how teenagers talk. The movie was really intelligent about dialog, if not its plot. The characters were at once funny and I feel like I could legitimately run into those types of people at a party, which is difficult to pull off. You had minor character development, enough to be entertaining but not so deep that the movie pretended to be deeper in any way than it was. That's probably my favorite thing about the movie, it's total openness about how crude and vulgar it was, aside from the jokes of course.

I do agree that a lot of the jokes were dependant on the vularity of Seth and Evan but I think even then it was a little over the top. I think the last person I met who swore that much had tourettes.
I didn't really find it that funny, it was stupid for the most part. I only liked McLovin, but I hardly laughed at all during the movie.
I found Borat hilarious on the other hand.
The movie isn't overrated at all!
It is an instant classic in my mind. I was surprised to find that the cops were by far the best part of the movie. The Arrested Developement kid is soo overrated in my mind. Really, Mclovin and the cops totally made the movie, along with some of the crazy situations the other 2 kids got themselves in.
Oh and Borat was awesome BTW.
I Though superbad was a great film, laughed my ass off in the cinema when I went to see it
Think it does definately appeal to certain tastes though in terms of humour, it was witty in parts and out and out stupid in others, but i was laughing from start to end.
I didnt think it was funny at all. All it offers are nonstop swear words and jokes about certain human body parts.
If you find that kind of material humurous i feel bad for you.
