The origins of this meme never cease to amuse me.

- One guy comes up with the absurd statement.

- Another guy somehow thinks of a frowning gorilla pic uploaded 3 years ago on some random picture account, and puts a caption on it.

- Meme fades into obscurity for years.

- Some person spots the cereal box at the grocery store or somewhere else, thinks about the gorilla and jimmies, gets and scans the box, then adds the caption.

- It slowly grows more prevalent, then spontaneously becomes a hit with countless edited images.

This path is utterly ridiculous. All it would have taken is a minor event for the whole thing to be derailed at some point, but everything magically fell into place just right.

I love this meme.

It's one of the worse memes to come from "that site." Most of their meme's (that feel, Constanza, Kornheiser, daily dose, etc.) are somewhat amusing, but jimmies just seems like another version of U MAD?

It's not very creative, even on the shoddy standards of internet memes.
