Well take a look and decide...http://www.metacritic.com/film/titles/princeofpersia
Or...http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0473075/
It's really recieving mixed reviews IMO...so i guess it's a love it or hate it kind of thing..
I've never even heard of Prince of Persia before. Or that other Max Payne movie for that matter.
Why do these companies insist on making movies to titles that no one knows about? So we don't catch on to them or something?

Huh?
It's based on a video game dude..
No, it is boring as hell and the romance sucks, just like any other movie. Kruiz_Bathory
Summer action flick perhaps..
So you only approve of movies that are attached to a famous franchise, like Spiderman or Ironman or Batman?I've never even heard of Prince of Persia before. Or that other Max Payne movie for that matter.

While I love your reasoning in assuming a direct correlation between these two ideas, I'm going to go with no. Not at all. I don't see why you would think that.
Also, lol at Ironman being a famous franchise. Who exactly knows about Ironman in the mainstream?
Next you'll be telling me that... Captain America, or the Atom, or Thor are famous franchises as well

It was a summer action flick and having had that mentality going it, I found it to be decent. Take it as it is, though. Comparing it to the source material will only make you hate it.

I bet you $3248.37 that if you were to hold up a picture of Captain America in front of an average person, that person would be able to tell you who they're looking at.

What source material are going with here. The old PoP games on the PC where the story was along the lines of "god damn Jaffar is going to rape the beautiful Princess. rescue her by jumping through these levels" or the PS2/Xbox/Cube generation games? The actual Prince has the perfect look of the Warrior Within version.

So since you've not heard of it, no one has? Your exepriences are not the same as those of everyone else. That being said, Prince of Persia is a moderately well-known and successful game series.

Are you serious?
Prince of Persia is a really successful series. The one that came out in 2008 sold over 2 million copies...
Whoa 2 million? I wonder why Ubisoft didn't make a sequel then...
Also I didn't play games in the 00's, I actually had other stuff to do at the time. Granted this is a video game website so it would make sense for everybody to know every series there is.

Even before the 00's, there were prince of persia games. I've been playing PoP since I was a kid
Coolest game ever..
Ubisoft opted to make a mediocre tie-in to the Sands of Time trilogy to be marketed along side the movie instead of a sequel to the fantastic 2008 reboot.
Yeah I just read a bit about the series on Wikipedia. It's been around since the NES days huh?
Kind of reminds me of Metal Gear Solid.
I didn't know what the series was about (you'd think it was a car-racing game) and then there was a Metal Gear series on the NES different from the Metal Gear Solid on the Playstation systems. Don't know if they're connected story-wise.
In Los Angeles, the tickets cost $12. The Food... sm popcorn, sm drink and a box of candy totals $15. Hey they got to make profits.
I will tell you what. It certainly could have been a lot worse. The biggest problem that this movie had was that it was just 100% "by the books". It had literally every movie cliche you could imagine. It was just a very typical summer movie, but it was okay. There is no way you can say this movie is bad because it does everything a movie usually does and it does a good job of it. It just wasn't original enough. I wouldn't have gone if i had to pay for it.

Actually you've got it backwards. Just because you as a gamer have heard of the series doesn't mean that most of the populace has any idea what it is.
Plus most gamers familiar with the series would stay clear of something that would encourage more game-based movies as opposed to more games, period.
Its pretty cool bruh. Lots of funnys and action scenes but the ending will make you want to pee on a cat.
It was Ok. I'd give it a 6/10. Cliche parts, the prince wasn't really interesting as a character. It didn't follow the games story very well. I only liked the princess' cleavage. Or at least what was shown of it. I was hoping she was gonna wear very skimpy outfits was its the desert and its hot, so she can wear less clothes to stay cool. But no the movies didn't do that. Otherwise i would give it a 8/10.
