Is the Xbox 360 or the Playstation 3 a more powerful system for video games?

Simply taking the sum of its parts the PS3 is more powerful. But yes, this question is posed day in and day out on system wars.

I got a 360, but the graphics on PS3 are better. The games on 360 are superior though, which is the reason I got it.

wrong place... but as far as I know the PS3 has more raw processing power but it is immpossible for developers to use all of that power because of poor software support or something along those lines. So in reality there is no difference between teh graphics in a PS3 game to the same game being played on a 360.
