You knw how SparkNotes! is the internet study guide that all students go to because they don't want to read the book and they realize that SparkNotes has all the information? Well, is there something liek that for movies? You know, that lists al lhe important quotes, symbolism, summary, etc.

Nope, I have my reasons. Can you just answer the question?

Look, Sparknotes for movies would be a waste. Sparknotes for books only exist as a shortcut so students don't have to read the books and form their own conclusions. Art is meant to be subjective and open to interpretation. If you just form your own conclusions, they can't be wrong as long as you can support them.

That was my thought as well. I mean I understand if you don't have time to read an entire book (though that is not even that hard) -but if you can't take 2 hours to watch a movie...WOW

I'm curious to know your reasons. Because it only takes a couple of hours MAX to watch a movie.

Hell, if you watch it at home you can play it at 1.5 speed and understand it fine

SparkNotes does a terrible job of conveying the meaning behind books and I'm sure that anything you find will do the same for movies. Try Wikipedia though. You'll get a half-decent synopsis and there is usually a section of themes.

Even then they aren't wrong. Art impresses upon each of us differently and we don't have to be able to describe or rationalize that impression for it to be valid.
