is there a way to "hack" my friends internet? cos his lying is pissin

hi i need a way to check my mates internet connection somehow to prove hes on 2 meg and not 11meg like hes says, i know 11 is impossible to get cos internet is always even 56k 512k 1mb 2mb 4mb 6mb 8mb 10mb 12mb etc,

so is there a way to get his internet connection details on my comp

 please note this is not an attempt to hack him and destroy his comp, i just want to show him up for lying behind everyones back all the time
