Open your eyes. The society we know today is a monetary-based society, it is controlled by the central bank.
What is the central bank ? The central bank is the non-governmental institution that makes the money out of thin air. The basic problem is that money is debt and debt is money.
For every dollar the government loans from the bank, it has to return the same value plus an interest rate. The problem is that if all the money in circulation is made by the bank and has to be returned plus the interest rate, then that means there will never be enough money to pay off the debt. This is a perpetual cycle that will lead to the destruction of society.
The Iraq and Afghanistan wars happened due to internal changes that the central bank did not like.
Let's take the case of Afghanistan. Before 1980, they produced 0% of the world's opium supply. After being backed up by the US and implicitly the CIA into wining the Afghan/Soviet war in around 1986 they were producing 40% of the world's heroin supply.
By 1999 they were producing up to 80% of the heroin supply. Then something unexpected happened, namely the rose of the Taliban to power. The new government then reduced the drug supply up to 94%.
2 Days after this, Bush had the full plans to invade Afghanistan on his desk. This lead to the fake 9/11 ""terrorist"" attack.
Besides, each year, 70 americans die from terrorism, while 450.000 die from the leading cause of death, coronary heart disease.
Even so, the government allocates 168 billion dollars for the war against terror and only 3 billion dollars to the research of heart disease.
If you want to learn more about the truth that is the corrupted economy of today, watch Zeitgeist and Zeitgeist Addendum.
They are free and not copyright so you can get them from P2P or torrent or whatever.
We just need a another world war.
And the economy will boom again.
Hamster-of-Fate
I don't know if we need another world war, but that might be what happens given all of the tensions between nations all over the world.

Say what you wish, but there is hard, concrete evidence to the theories presented in the documentaries.[QUOTE="GabuEx"]If the world survived the Great Depression, it can certainly survive this.
I never fail to be surprised at people's lack of faith in the resilience of the world. :P

Don't judge the world by way of the gamespot forums.
If the stock markets are any indication, plenty of 'real life' people think exactly the same thing - that the economy is doomed. Thus, the mass panic selling.
[QUOTE="metalmouth14"]No because the economy is always going up and going down every couple of years. It never stays down or up but everytime it goes down everyone always freaks outTheokhoth
The economy hasn't been this "down" in eighty years. . . .
Indeed. And it may be the only time in our lives that it does something like this. This isn't a typical correction. But then, I don't see it as a reason to panic either. Truth be told, it's more of an opportunity than anything if you play your cards right.
i dont really care if we go down. money is just paper, how the hell is our companies and stock and everything business going down just because of paper??
Are you kidding? The world overcame the Great Depression and you think this is worse. I will start worrying when the cities are no longer packed with holiday shoppers. People may be losing everything, but they still have time to shop for presents.surferdude17ya because of WWII lets hope however we dont get pulled out of depression for another major war hmm?
