Is this year the year of the best movies ever?????

This year 2007 has impressed me on the movies coming out Disturbia,Spider-man3 and soon more like friday 28 weeks later comes out!!! Then in a couple of months Transformers, and I heard AVP 2 comes out!! Do you think this is the best year for movies???? I do

If you are only into blockbuster movies, then yes, this is a great year for blockbuster movies. Other than that, only a few look interesting to me. Nowhere near the best year for films.

I'm looking foward to American Gangster, the new film being directed by Ridley Scott, the most.

Obviously not everything is going to be a sequel, but most of the big movies coming out are sequels.

There will never be a greatest year of movies from now on. Hollywood is out of original ideas, and now looks to milk sequels, and make movie adaptations from t.v. shows and videogames.

 Most of the good films didn't come out of hollywood in the first place. Well, in my opinion anyway.

1975 deffinately beats this year. I'd probably say that 1999 was the last good year of American cinema, but then again my memory of release dates is flimsy.

I'm finding it quite odd though, how the major demographic of cinema-goers is getting younger and younger in the U.S. I suppose that's great in a way - I look to Europe more for my movie fix these days.

Dude Pirates3, I'm so there with you on that one. Potter too. It's a damn GOOD year but not the best though.

There just arent enough great movies made in one years time to call any one year the best movie year ever.

94 was a pretty amazing year though. Shawshank Redemption and Forest Gump came out in the same year. Pretty darn good year.

It's still too early to tell.  So far all we have heard are the big-budget summer releases.  There's still 7 months left to this year, hopefully, something good will come out. Right now, the on I'm looking forward to is Knocked Up. Seth Rogen was great in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, and I'm excited that he finally has his own feature.

I'm not saying it's the best movie year but I'm also not going the pretentious route and griping about how there is no originality in Hollywood. If you want avant-garde or originality, go to sundance. Plenty of great movies come out of there.firebird23

If you're 12, sure, otherwise 1970's was probably the greatest era for film. Not that I was alive at that time (don't wanna date myself), but go back and take a look at some of those. Just incredible.  

I only care for Spiderman 3, HP5, the third Pirates, and this one other movie I forgot... I guess Iron Man will be cool, though.

I don't really think so, even though movies like 300 and SM3 came out this year.
