Ok, Gordon Brown is the son a of Scottish Presbyterian Minister, now that not to say that he followed the 'good route' but he comes across as being the righteous man, and i certainly wouldn't doubt he his, the truth can be hard, and so can Gordon Brown. But he also has his compasionate side ... he is one of 'Gods men' .

Now Brown and Blair dont see eye to eye ...'at all'.. anymore...and i think its fundamental...i.e their belief...So how can this be ...Blair has said he is a Christian.....and i always thought he would be a Baptist type Evangelical almost complete free spirit though his faith...but at the end of his role in goverment i am seeing a bit differnet through his catholic connections and biographies written about him for a start.

So whats the deal here have i been wrong all along..is he a fake, or is he the real persected Christain man..

Serious answers only pls!

It matters because i am interested in people, and Blair was a huge influence on the whole world for 10 years and there is no getting away from that, now he has said on various interviews that he is a Christian but i can see cracks occuring.

Wait, so the reason they don't see eye to eye is because of their beliefs? At least that's what you say. People of the same belief, of the same 'cloth' can disagree on different aspects. Just because he's of a particular sect similar to his counterpart doesn't mean he has to agree.

I don't believe they disliked each other because of their religions, especially since both of them seem to be the kind who don't mix religion with politics.

There were probably other factors like the relationship with the US...

I dont think religion ever had much of a bearing on how Tony Blair ran things (and thats how it should be) and Brown probably will be the same.

No-one in Britain is Evangelical. The most populated Christian Denominations are Catholic and Protestant. And Blair is a practising Catholic.

You are wasting your time by thinking about it and ours by making this topic.

Do you think Tony Blair prefers jam on toast in the morning over cherios? I think he has something against Gordon because Gordon loves Cherios however Tony comes across as a real jam on toast guy tbh.

Wrong. If I were to become a leader of a nation I would do ONLY what is right according to the Bible. That is what this nation is supposed to be doing according to our founding fathers.

Wow, if we did what the founding fathers 'supposedly' set for this Nation, we'd still be back in the 1700s with out mindset.

He's perfectly right in saying that. Blair and Brown pretty much hate each other, I thought that was well known. Just because they work together doesnt mean they have to like each other :P.

Anyway, I don't think Blairs opinion on religion really matters as he is a politician. Here in the UK I think the large majority hate any connection between religion and politics. Everyone I know groaned when Tony Blair did the "Gods hand on my shoulder" speech. Still, it's ironic how its like that here though we are officially COE, but the other way round in the US. Anyway, yes blair is christian but nowhere near evangelical in my opinion.

If you knew anything about British politics you'd see that Blair pretty much gave his position as prime minister to Gordon Brown.
