My sister has just gotten it (hasn't read it yet) and I've seen it all over the place and heard it was really good...from the ladies only. Is this a chick flick in book form? (seriously guys, I rather not read a book and get bored half way. I am obsessive when it comes to reading, and once I start a novel I have to finish it before I can criticize/love it.
Whatever happened to vampires being bloodthirsty monsters? Now it's all "Oh my life is so sad. I'm practically a superhero who gets to stay young forever. Now I'm going to go put on some more black eyeliner."

I swear this is a new phenomenon, or better put a recent fad for the kids and preteens. Everyone that is 10-16 years old bought a Twilight book in the past week just because a movie about it is coming out. I saw the trailer and i thought it was a The Covenant clone, nothing special about it. Yet at my theater alone theres over 400 presold tickets for it, and the movie comes out in 2 weeks. I will never understand why preteens get so hyped for the stupidest things

i read the book before the trailers came out. i'm big fan and all. but the movie is going to suck. edward and jacob aren't hot at all.
Twilight is one of the worst and cheesiest vampire books I have ever read, heck its one of the worst books I have read period. Terrible story, cliche and shallow characters, but these days people dont want to think while reading I guess.

That book and the rest of the series are the best books i have read..It has a great story and good writing (simple is the way i like it). New Moon (second book) was the First book that REALLY got me to care about the characters..when Bella was running through the city to catch Edward before he walked out into the sun i was nearly jumping up and down with nervousness. Then in Eclipse when Jacob kissed Bella towards the end while Edward was away i got REALLY angry...He tricked Bella into kissing him and she had said over and over again that she only liked him as a friend but he still wanted more... Breaking Dawn was somewhat disappointing mostly because she hyped the giant fight between the Cullens and the Volturi and it never happened..but, I got what i wanted, Bella turned into a vampire and she got to live with Edward for the rest of eternity and Jacob imprinting on Renesmee was okay...I would rather he had imprinted on Lee or one of the other older girls...
I love the books. I even read the partial draft of Midnight sun (Twilight re-written in Edwards perspective) on the internet and i want MORE.
