I think it's our culture that makes it seem wrong. Girls are biologically made to make babies when they're around 12. They're not fully developed physically(main physical growth) until like 16 and mentally until 21(when both mental and physical stop), but it's still fun to them so they do it anyways.

So 1 in 3 high school girls admit to having sex, but it's the 2nd highest form of pleasure a human can have(food being first), and at 14-18, they can do it and they only see school as something that wouldn't let them do it. We have some image of it being horrible to see schoolgirls doing it, but we always associate the 12-18 year old girl as a school girl. What do you guys think? Should our society stop freaking out about it? Not that we should be encouraging it, but with the way our world is going, it's hard to prevent people from getting pleasure.

The sex isn't wrong if the two people like each other. It's the stupidity and laziness from not wearing a condom or using the pill which in turn makes babies and irresponsible parents.

I'm definetely against it. That would put older virgins in an even more awkward situation.

Yes, but only because the modern human matures mentally at a frighteningly slow rate and are completely incapable of understanding the concept that sex has repercussions.

2 years below the age of consent is fine for me.

that would be 14 here in england where a 1/3 of teens say when they loose their virginity in england

Yes.

No matter how fully developed ones reproduction system is at a young age you're still a child and unable to take care of another child, there is a reason why there are laws to prevent underage sex.

I dont think you should go around just having sex. I think thats disgusting for any age x)

It's only wrong because we make it out to be wrong. I believe that when you are 16 you should be able to do it as long as you are responsible.Younger than 16, though, I think is a bit too early to be concerned about having sex, but whatever.

It's for these reasons that underaged sex is discouraged. Without the emotional, social, and economic foundation, underaged sex ruins many lives. When kids would rather have sex than get a diploma, we wind up with poor, uneducated, overburdened, drug addicted adults (pleasure being paramount to everything else).

When you get married, buy a home in a nice neighborhood, and have kids, your outlook on society changes. Responsibility is the keyword here.

Wrong!
If you add a additional layer it causes friction and actually increases the chance of both breaking.

naturally: when a girl has her period, she is ready for child bearing. Therefore sex is okay, as long the couple let the offspring survive, there is generally no problem with producing.

As a society: It is okay to have safe sex years after maturity, but it is generally frowned upon by others and the pregnancy of minors is shown with disgust; but more and more people are lowering their standards as society shows that safe sex is okay. But teenagers make mistakes by doing unsafe sex and engage in the act of reproducing, and do just that, unprepared. Yes society will not let the offspring die, but the parents given all the power of the child would leave the option of neglect and death open, which modern day humans have surpassed.

btw- I mean american society :P

Religion: religion says maturity occurs, but mental maturiy with a partner will occur after marriage. Therefore under age sex is looked down upon until marriage. Since state law prevents most states to marry under the age of 18 without consent of parents, 18 is the proper age for marriage and therefore the ability to have children.

btw- I mean Christianity :P

I don't think so, there is nothing wrong with sex, at any age..but the ages should be a bit equal (not adults with little kids) and no raping.

If you think it's so bad at young age, like I am 15, just wear condom or other protection.

While the topic of conversation is not necessarily taboo, some of the responses are really not appropriate, as they are starting to reference pedophilia indirectly. Let's find something else to talk about in OT k?
