Is war really that bad? (poll)

Im bored so i wanna hear peoples thoughts on this.

In my Opinion, War is good to an extent, it helps thin out human population, therefore providing the rest of us more resources and slowing the process of global warming.

Dont get me wrong there are some types of war i dont like, i dont like the thought of Dirty Bombs and nuclear warfare and the likes.

To say it thins the population is ignorant. Think of the families that worry about their uncles, brothers, fathers, and sons. I take that personally too. My father was in the Army, uncle in the Air Force, and another Uncle still in the Air Force

But war is horrible and monstrous.

War is mostly avoidable. Exhibitions of power seem more important to today's governments, though.

Diplomacy is the key.

well, its true, and im not disrespecting anyone, because my Granda was in World War II, and i have uncles who were involved in the troubles here in Ireland.

War is not good, but necessary. It is all in the balance of good and bad.magicalclick

Good and bad is relative. War is a practical resolution of such arbitrary concepts.

War is only effective when the single men who crave it are the ones who are fighting it.

NO HUMAN BEING should die because of another man's interests.

Do you know many resources are wasted starting/fighting wars? That's hardly a justification lol. You destroy a lot of other resources in the process.

any kind of war is wrong.... make love not war .... they have natural disasters for population control, and if people would not have like 10 f in kids that would help too....

Both. Because of war we developed new technologies. That technology is neutral, it's how it's used that may be good or bad.

But yes war is bad. No human should be killing another human.

I think if only a large amount of soldiers die, rather than innocents which probably happens a lot, isnt a bad thing either becuase they know there is a chance they will die. If there was less people about there would be a lot less poverty and starvation going on.

Most of the wars in all of history are really stupid (WWI didn't have to happen, Napoleonic wars didn't have to happen, ETC). Hitler was determined on eleminating every Jew from the face of the Earth, and he probably wouldn't have stopped when the Jews were gone. He would've targeted a different group, then a different one, all of them until only the Aryan was around. So he needed to be stopped.CruxisXIII

Actually, Jews weren't the only ones to get stuck in concentration camps. Gay people were used as target practice, gypsies were in the camps, black people, political prisoners, and I'm sure many more were in them.

Yes war is that bad. Don't forget the one's who come home have scars other than the one's you can see. Not too many wars kill enough people to even make a slight dent in the overall human population, but if one person gets killed for no good reason at all, then that is one too many.

my cousin is in the army and loves it... i know a few people in it and say its decent. If there was no more wars from some "miracle" then what would you suggest the millions of people emlpoyed in the various navys and military groups there are do for a job?

I'm sure people like that would enjoy being in war, and unfortunately, they're the same pansies that HBO specials are made about when their legs get blown off.

I have no sympathy for anyone who chooses to go to war with an urge to kill someone. If you want money, get a job.

If you want a good job, go to college.

If you want more money, learn how to finance better. Chances are that you're one of the hundreds of millions of Americans that wastes too much money and the stupidest things.

I hate these "population control" and "employment" arguments. If it was the people who spout such cold, ignorant things, their families and their communities that were being murdered I'm not sure they'd still be saying "oh no, this war is good, our deaths are creating jobs and thinning the earth's population". Population control wouldn't be required if the people in power didn't cram

1. sexual images down our throats

2. ideas of big families being somewhat "happier"

3. benefits for having more children

4. support for underage teens having children

causing the problem of over-population in the first place.

The people in power want this because more people means stronger economy. (more buyers and workers)

What they don't want is the people who can't afford things or don't work, (the poor people they recruit for the army, and the people they go and kill)
