Because mine is. I've been living on my own for a good 10 years now.
Yeah, it's pretty cool. I'm a middle class canadian; I've never been wealthy. I live near a river and a forest, so it's nice to go there. There are a lot of great places to pray/meditate; it's very relaxing. I've been at this house for about 15 years.
lol no.
It's not a dump, it's just old and no investments have really been made to it since I moved in 11+ years ago.
I rent, though, so whatever. If it was my house I'd have changed the kitchen and my bathroom by now and gotten rid of the carpet, but it ain't so I can't be too critical lol.
Fairly cheap rent for where I live and it's a 5-minute drive to work so I'm happy.

Yeah it's nice being semi-rural. I can drive 30 minutes East and find myself in the countryside surrounded by vineyards or trees with a beautiful view.
Or I can drive 30 minutes West and find a nice bluff and look out on the Pacific Ocean.
Built my condo apartment about 8 years ago, and it's in a historic town in Ontario. It's a one-bed condo apartment and I built with builders grade finishing to keep costs down at the time (flooring etc) but i'm now renovating. I also border the arena/park and we're a big vineyard town.
It lovely now that I’ve gotten used to it. It takes me a while to adjust to my surroundings. But now that I’ve got a routine down, and all my precious items in the house, I’m happy.
It is. It wasn't for a few years since I had to move. I moved a few years ago to an apartment and I had no furniture. Got the essential first, like a bed and a table and little else. It was functional, but I had no space to store stuff, and the place wasn't cozy at all.
It was over time that I got some furniture to store things, a good couch, a big TV, and a some more things that made my place cozy. This works wonders for mental health.
I'm in between homes atm. Hopefully we can be done building the new one by October or November.... Or now would be nice.
I love my home, but my home seems indifferent about it. We did a lot of remodeling a few years ago, redid the bathroom and kitchen entirely. It could still use some improvements but I have been working on it. Mostly I would like some of the people to clean up after themselves when they are done things!
Yeah, it's pretty nice. My neighbors call us "The Joneses" from keeping up with the Joneses because I like my lawn well maintained and my wife keeps the house clean and looking good. I'm the guy that's out washing his cars, planting flowers, and power washing the sidewalk so my house is the best looking house on the block.
It's nicer then when we bought the house back in 1994. Added a patio in the back and second dining room and got a new roof after 20 years. Central air which was $1,000 keeps the house cooler instead of having wibdow units. Only downside is the 1/2 acre yard that needs cutting especially in the Texas heat. I like my house it's just keeping up with it every day.
it's ok. not the nicest on the street but was the only one for sale when we bought and the neighborhood is excellent.
in the process of trying to put in an in-ground pool for the kids. hopefully in for next summer.
It's alright. Modern, good location. It's not a big place, by any stretch of the imagination, but it's enough.
I had a stunning view of the sunset over the forest, until they added another two floors to the property on the corner, but I shouldn't complain - it's still scenic.
There's lots of wildlife in the area, too, so even though I'm just a short walk from the city buzz, I'll often see boars and badgers chilling and doing their thing on the streets.
Most of my neighbours are friendly and open, and I really like that about living here. To me, it makes all the difference between a home and a fortress.
