Yes. This one time, I dropped an Oreo, and it rolled under my desk! Can you believe that? I had to move my chair out of the way, get down on my hands and knees, and crawl under my desk to retrieve the errant cookie. I think I pulled a muscle.Oleg_Huzwog
That's funny. Office people are much lazier than laborers, I've noticed that.
Luckily for me, skating keeps me from growing a coffee and bagel ass.
Hell no. I work maintinence at a state park and don't do anything. I get paid $8 an hour for riding Mules around, having an hour long lunch and breakfast, cracking jokes, and doing easy group labor.R0cky_Racc00nSounds like an awesome job.
I am a Dentist so i have to say that most of the times it is an easy smooth jobdelolI'm sure you enjoy the suffering others with your weapons of destruction, drilling, filling and toying with our teeth telling us its for our own good after giving us bad mouthwash. Toying with our emotions by providing us with a comfy chair and good lighting but then pull your tools that haunts us for the rest of our lives.
I'm a shelver at a library, started back in October. I'm constantly moving around, walking back and forth, lifting things, squatting, etc. I've lost 50 pounds since working there, so yeah... I'd say it's phsycially demanding.JustPlainLucasWow, 50 lbs? If only Americans would read more and loose weight more.
My job is physcially demanding. It can get to you if you don't wear the right shoes.

Regular exercise and going out shaking my ass once or twice a week does the same for me[QUOTE="R0cky_Racc00n"]Hell no. I work maintinence at a state park and don't do anything. My job is like that movie Super Troopers. I just ride around in a truck with some fun guys looking for something to do, and I have authority over a lot of people.

Doing what? :?
All the jobs I've ever had involved being on my feet for the entire shift... including my current job, which also involves lifting 80-90 lb boxes and bags.
So yes, physical.
yes lifting stuff all the time always lifting stuff I went to work this morning and when I left my pants started to fall down I lost weightkemar7856
Heh, I had that same problem at the library. I even had to put a new notch in my belt, because my pants still kept falling down.
Not really, well at least not my current job.
As a technician for Comcast, it's mostly the driving and diagnostics that are demanding, if anything. However, since the contracting firm I work for is being bought out by Comcast themselves(which means MUCH LESS money for us contractors), I'm going to start in 3 weeks as a Turret Truck operator stocking away full pallets of material/product which usually does involve lots of physical movement
I'm a dish washer so on the really busy days, yes it can be demanding. The last two Sundays were murder. ReggieWhite2
As a former dishwasher, I can say that it's more mentally exhausting than physical.
Ok, were do start? Well here go's. I'm currently working for MFI. driving everything from a com-bi-lift to a forklift to a counter balance but just lately we have been sooo busy, that I'm having to wrap and band pallets at a very fast pace. At my place of work, you earn a bonus for the harder you work. In which case the gaffers set a target of 500 loads for that night (i work nights) and if targets met then bonus achieved. Anyways more to the point. At work Ive got a good reputation for been a grafter, and how i make it look easy but on the inside its draining me! I'm loosing a lot of weight & have a very low fatigue as a result of this, my out of work social life is now non existent. It wasn't till this week i realised i need to maybe look for a new job, one which isn't as physically demanding, trouble is i love all my work mates and enjoy the countless banter we have. yesterday night, well about 5am, 1 hour before my shift ended i just dropped, i was absolutely burned out, i haven't got a history of blackouts and it was rather unpleasant. Cracking my head on the floor during the fall didn't help either. The bosses was very nice to me and told me if i need any time off then its fine but my trouble is i work myself to the bone. Before i split up with my girlfriend of 5 years i was working 8 hour shifts and coming home and moaning how tired i was, but after the split i threw myself into work and now know i was lazy back then as now i am working 12 hour shifts and sometimes ill stay an extra 2 hours making it a 14 hour shift. Were as when I'm driving the truck i keep it at 12 hours as anything more is just downright dangerous. By the way, my sincere apologies for rambling on, But as weird as it sounds, typing all this actually felt like released pressure the more i typed as it's not something Ive discussed, as work is life and like most i just tend to crack on with it etc.:)
My life is physically demanding. My current job is mobile cleaning and it's quite tiring. I also look after 5 horsies which is also hard work. But I do get breaks from it all every known and then.
Oh noes i'm a cleaner  Yes that's right! My hours are flexible and I get paid more then low grade admin staff.
Ok, were do start? ...

Jordanleo, I hate to have to tell you this on your first post, but the terms of use for this site prohibit the "bumping' of old threads. Just an FYI.
Oh ya, I work at a brewery.
Here is a list of some things I get to do:
1. Move grain on days we get shipments. Each palette is about 2 tons worth of grains, 50 lbs per bag. We usually get 3-6 palettes worth. First, we gotta push it on a cart up the ramp about 100 feet in total. Then we gotta haul each bag up 12 steps...doesnt seem like much, but its a lot.
2. I usually work 6-10 hour days, and I am usually moving around. I get to sit for about 30 minutes the whole time.
3. On days we brew, I have to lift big buckets, 50 pounds each, up these stairs (they resemble the ladders on naval ships, really steep) to dump the malt into the hot water to make the mash.
4. Clean kegs. Sometimes kegs are empty, so I have to invert them, drain beer residue, then wash them. Sometimes theyre full, which means they weigh like 100 pounds...
5. Fill bottles with beer and haul them around.
6. Spend a few hours in a 38-degree F walkin cooler.
Before this I was a cook. I dont need to tell you how harsh that job was...
