The description clearly states not to bid and that the winner will receive nothing. Yet there have been 16 bids and it's now up to over $100.

I'm not surprised, that's a very misleading posting given the title/item description.chessmaster1989
exactly. people are dumb, but the people that make that post are missleading and dishonest. Ebay shouldnt allow stuff like that. It's just a big joke how many things on Ebay are like that. Why pay for information on a scam? There's NO such thing as FREE. "JUST FOLLOW THESE 3EASY STEPS BELOW TO GET YOUR FREEIPOD!" If you have to follow 3 "easy" steps, then its not free is it? I hate scams and I hate ebay for enabling them.
It says the current bid is $102
*Sorry I thought you said 1000, none the less, some people are just stupid.
What a great idea! Capitalizing on stupidity![QUOTE="The_Weird_Guy"]

I'm not surprised, that's a very misleading posting given the title/item description.chessmaster1989but shouldn't people know to read EVERYTHING before they buy something off the internet from someone they don't know? one would think, i suppose... one would think.
Maybe this is Apple trying to find out if they can finally have people just give them money so they can stop wasting it on R&D.cd_rom:lol: clever
If you look at the bottom of the page you can see a note posted by the person who posted the listing, reinforcing that there is nothing for sale. If you compare the timestamp on his/her added comment to the bid history, you can see that nobody has placed a bid since they added that note. Nobody will be paying anything for this.
I've been working behind the counter at Tim Hortons for three years now. Nevertheless, I'm surprised daily. I get through it by insulting people incredibly subtly, or playing dumb when they say something that I know what they're trying to say, I just choose not to interpret it until they say it right. Three angry customers in three years, so I must be doing something right.I'm not surprised anymore. :|

Have a *timbit*I'm not surprised anymore. :|

I'm surprised that the eBay authorites haven't shut this auction down. All you have to do is scroll down to see the spam. it's an enormous banner. I thought that those pyramid schemes for free iPods went the way of the dodo. Apparently they've just started making junk eBay auctions. I think it would be funnier if eBay forced these @$$clowns to sell the high bidder the iPod touch at the closing bid.
I used to be a member of a car club with an active forum. One of the ladies that was fairly active on the forums used to work part-time for eBay, it was her job to find frivolous/spam auctions like this one and alert the admins to close it. She used to link a lot of them because they took a little while to close them. Among others I've seen things like a ham sandwiches that cleared $20 (plus shipping), $1.28 in loose change that made it up to $11.50, and even someone selling a moldy, partially rottenbra that fell out of the ceiling while they were remodeling their dinning room.
