I'm not a huge Beatles fan but I still like what they did. That sure would have been a crazy day to have been alive.

My favourite Beatles song is 'Something' - it's a George Harrison song.

I find John Lennon a little meh - 'Jealous Guy' is a good song though.

I missed where I should be a fan of somebody just because they *possibly* influenced somebody I like. That's like saying I should love a friend's parents just because they're his parents.

Well, if they're jerks, then screw em'! And I don't really think you have to be a Beatles fan because they influenced bands you may like...But at least be respectable of the accomplishments they've made and everything.

And yeah...I quit GW for a bit...So I must've missed the excitement of the e-marriage threads.

I think there's no question the majority on this board are waaaay too young to appreciate their greatness.

A shame, because they probably had an influence on most any rock band they like.

John Lennon was a god, a shame many of you are too young to ever know that.

Rubber Soul and Revolver are among the greatest albums of all time, undeniable.

Basically, he's saying your bands probably wouldn't be where they are or play like they do if not for the Beatles influence....and he's right.

Don't like them and don't like John Lennon

I grew up with the Beatles being rammed down my throat all the time and so I have never been too keen on any of their music or any of their later solo projects. I have slowly come to appreciate some of their songs fairly recentlybut I can only take them in very small doses.

"Nowhere Man" is possibly my favourite beatles song. There are a handful of others I quite like and that's about it. It's sad John Lennon was killed, but I'm not really a fan.
