I care about sentient beings regardless of whether it is an animal or person. That does not include a fetus of an animal or human.

simply pathetic when people put animals on the same level as a child.

dog purses? dog sweaters? dog slippers? come on its a animal. seriously, my dog came back from a cow field covered in fecies the other day and it was normal because it is a dog.

I disagree with your statement that abortion is equivalent to killing a baby. And even if you truly think abortion is the same as killing a baby, well, would you rather an unprepared parent gives birth to the child and unsuccessfully attempts to raise it instead? Would you rather the baby grow up starved, abandoned, and unloved instead?

People may hate me for this, but if I'm to be completely honest, when I see some middle-aged bum on the street, the emotional response I have pales in comparison to theemotional response I have when I happen across a middle-aged stray dog wondering around.

Of course they are. My cats have emotions, conduct problem solving, and perceive experiences with sensory organs (many of which are superior to our own).

for me it depends on the animal. if it's a wild animal in nature dependent upon itself for survival i do not feel bad when it dies, just part of the natural world. when it is an animal whose survival is mostly dependent upon a caregiver such as a house pet and that person abuses the animal for their own entertainment of financial gain, that i have a problem with.

i value my 15 year old dog who wont be around for too many more years more than every person i dont know. the known value of my dog to me is greater than the unknown value that an unknown person may or may not bring to my life. now if it were. as for unknown unknowns such as stepped on puppy v aborted baby. neither are in my privy and so i dont know about them. i would stop a man from killing a puppy and if i saw an abortion in process i would call the police, my house or the public areas i frequent is not the place to do that. i might just kill the mother if she broke into my house to abort her baby, but that is more about the castle doctrine than it is abortion.

Well i do feel that animals have more right to be here than we do. After it isn't the animals that is destroying this planet, it is us. I don't think it is ok to kick a baby, but would bust somebody in the mouth if they kicked a baby and just as fast if they kicked an animal. I will not stand by and opera somebody mistreated a baby and I will not put up with people being mean to animals either. If they don't want a split lip, I suggest they don't mistreated any animal or small child in my presents. And I am not the won't to care about spending the night in jail because of it either, so the threat of jail would not stop me from splitting that lip.

Humans=commits genocide and torture and are sadists

Animals=innocent and live only by survival instinct. yes lions eat others cause of survival instinct but they'd never torture someone because they enjoy it.

It's more the fact that they don't understand. Hurt a man, he comprehends, hurt a baby, child, or animal, they don't All animals get lumped in with babies and children.

Different circumstances, but I share your general view here. The people I know and care about are at the top, followed by the animals I know and care about, which come before billions of people I'll never meet or interact with. Besides... I really like non-human animals, none of whom have EVER caused me to want them dead. People on the other hand frequently undertake courses of action or make an impression that renders me insensitive to their continuing existence, or in the extreme actively wish (but never do them) harm.

Depends on the person.

Your analogy, though, is faulty. Abortion is not the same thing as killing, at least not as many people are concerned. Comparing killing an animal with abortion is a false comparison, a better one would be aborting an animal with aborting a human. I still think that aborting an animal is worse, but that's because the animal mother can't make a choice and humans have to make that decision for her.

Huh? How is that a fair comparison? You're comparing an animal that's already been born to a fetus that hasn't. Hardly the same. I don't see anyone crying over a dead animal fetus.
