I've been fortunate enough to get a decent internet connection, and I'm bored so I thought i'd be a good idea to ask the glorious forums which movies they'd recommend.

Movies I'm interested in, but not limited to these criteria:

-Cult horror films (Not about cults, but, you know, movies that have cult followinigs.)

-70's and80's Exploitation films

-Foreign Horror films

-Any horror film pre-2000 that has a large gore/horror element

I hope that some of you guys have ideas, I'm leaning on the Dark side of movies, at this particular moment, so any films you guys know of that fit this criteria I would love to hear about.

:)

Cult horror films, the obvious choices are Halloween, Friday 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street. Oh and Troll 2 :D.

Foreign horror films, check some Japanese stuff out, very messed up. Try out The Audition or Ichi the Killer to see if you like that kind of st-yle and if you do, check some of the other stuff out from Takashi Miike.

furio123

From Wikipedia:

"Each season of The Wire focuses on a different facet of the city of Baltimore. They are, in order: the drug trade, the port, the city government and bureaucracy, the school system, and the print news media. The large cast consists mainly of character actors who are little known for their other roles. Simon has said that despite its presentation as a crime drama, the show is "really about the American city, and about how we live together. It's about how institutions have an effect on individuals, and how whether you're a cop, a longshoreman, a drug dealer, a politician, a judge [or a] lawyer, you are ultimately compromised and must contend with whatever institution you've committed to."[1]

Despite never seeing large commercial success or winning any major television awards,[2] The Wire has frequently been described by critics as the greatest television series of all time.[3][4][5][6][7][8] The show is recognized for its realistic portrayal of urban life, artistic ambitions, and uncommonly deep exploration of sociopolitical themes."

This thread is now about The Wire.

A few suggestions....

'Sinful Nuns Of Saint Valentine.' Italian horror movie.

'Heavenly Creatures.' Directed by Peter Jackson and starring Kate Winslet.

'Children Of The Living Dead', featuring Tom 'From Dusk Till Dawn' Savini.

'Cypher.' Directed by Vicenzo 'Cube' Natali and featuring Lucy Lui. Technically, a sci-fi thriller, but it'ssurreal at points.

'Ginger Snaps.' A good trilogy of werewolf movies.

'Dog Soldiers.' Another werewolf movie.

'Surf Nazis Must Die.' A schlock, action/comedy/horror movie.

'Carla's Song'with Robert Carlisle. A gritty social realism drama/romance.
