She's 75 years old, has been confined to a wheelchair/scooter for about 20 years, and she's in the hospital right now with internal bleeding (I don't have any specific details)

It just feels really weird because I visited her about a week ago and she was perfectly fine.

don't try to get her off of your mind; you wont be able to. I'll be honest, If you get to sleep, it wont be for a while, probably hours, so just try to relax.

just think about the nice moments you've spend with her, dont think about whats next since that is unknown, put good memories about her in your mind,

try knitting those tiny details you remember about her when you were a child, running around her living room, playing scrabble, eating her signature dish, next thing you reaize you just woke up from a dream, and though she's gone her memory will persist.

My grandfather was hospitalized with a heart attack this summer, and it was agonizing for my family and I. Luckily he survived; I hope your grandma does too.

Sorry to hear that. My Grandma was diagonsed with cancer a few months ago. Absolutley heartbreaking, you get that horrible pit in your stomach. Shes been doing chemotherapy now, and they said some of the cancer is gone. Best wishes for your grandma.

That exact thing happened to me about 5 years ago, I watched my grandma die 4am on her hospital bed because of internal bleeding.

But, people come and go. I wish the best for her. Try to appreciate what she's done for you in your life time.

So because it's a part of life he shouldn't be worried that she could die of internal bleeding? Sure, he shouldn't dwell on it forever, but dude...have some heart :|

Um... Happy New Year? Honestly I don't know how to respond. If she might actually die tonight I suggest you be there instead of at your house posting on gamespot and looking at naughty pictures online

Some hospitals kick people out after a particular time. Plus, he'd have to come home to brush, shower and get his mind off things too...

I'm giving a way to look at things so he won't worry, most people would be happy if they lived to 75 :|

My grandma was in a nursing home for 5 years, I saw her one day and she was perfectly fine, an hour after I left she was dead (heart attack).

These things happen and life goes on, if she does pass away then I'm sure she's had a great life and wouldn't want others to be sad about it. Go on living like normal and don't hide your emotions, if you need to talk to someone ask a good friend to listen.

Know the feeling. One of my grandmothers died on my 10th birthday, suddenly (she choked home alone). Don't think about it much anymore (34 yrs. old) but was weird when my bday came around when I was a kid.

Sorry to hear about that. Luckily your family knew about her being in the hospital. On my dad's side of the family, they didn't tell us that my grandmother was getting surgery for her colon cancer. :/ My uncle was the only one to call us and ask us why we weren't there.
