I bought 3 songs off of iTunes off my iPod Touch and then went to sync it with my computer's library. The purchases didn't transfer to my library and it erased the songs from my Touch. However, if I go to iTunes and select the item again it tells me that I've already downloaded it and if I want to BUY IT AGAIN. And I put in a d/l dispute over the vanished songs to the iTunes Store and never heard back from anyone. How the heck do they think they can get rid of illegal music sharing when their DRM protection is so shoddy and want to hold zero accountability for it?

A lot of people, I don't know where you've been but you should get out of your rock once in a while. Anyway, what you can do is request to redownload the songs, and they will let you. I forgot how but I think it's in options or something. Just search for it in google. I had a problem where my purchased songs would never start downloading so I had to request a refund.

Yes, this is why we all need to use Amazon people. Un-DRM MP3s. Have you tried clicking the "buy song" again? I've heard that usually Apple will let you redownload a song if you lost it.

Possible dumb question, but did you check the play list called "Purchased" by any chance? That's where all my songs go.

Like I said, just request a refund...even for the one you clicked...again. You will get all your money back. I remember purchasing Sonic game but I didn't realize it wasn't compatible for ipod touch...got a refund.

Ugh. Sometimes I hate Apple so much. Bad luck, I'm sorry.

I actually tried that once and it said something like:

"our records show that you have already purchased (insert song name), would you like to download (insert song name) again"

I did and they didn't charge me

Itunes is lame. I use only because I have an Ipod, and even then I've tried to minimize usage.

I had that same problem, I bought a few songs from itunes and after a few days when I went to my library to put them on my iPod they were gone, and when I checked history it said I had purchased them but I could re-download them.. Ok I went to download them and before I clicked download it had the price of the song again above the download. I e-mailed support and after running around in circles for a few days e-mailing and calling back and fourth (their excuse we have to verify validity, apparently they get lots of fake calls saying people downloaded them but really didn't) but w/e after that I stopped downloading from itunes and use a free peer to peer downloader that works alot better :)

Itunes stinks. Use Amazon. Their site is sucky, but they give you mp3s and not some DRMed up Apple junk.

iTunes is fine. Just buy a CD-RW and you can remove the DRM stuff anyway...
