30. I find that most people generally don't 'grow up' until they hit their late 20s. Many of them still binge drink and self destruct into their early 30s and beyond, of course, but they're the minority. By the time you reach 30 (or so) you generally have an excellent idea of yourself, what you want, what your plans for the future are and all that and a relationship at that point is going to have a much better foundation. That isn't to say early 20-something relationships don't work, but you have to work around potential problems of one or both partners changing a considerable amount as their priorities shift.
I dated a girl 8 years older than me for a long time. She was a whore and I knew it. She was also into drugs and I knew that too but I was thinking with my little head...Now I'm married for 9 years to a woman 3 years younger than me. It really shouldn't matter too much as long as she feels right for you. Ideally, within 5 years ofmy age would be best.
