Jack Johnson.

Since OT seem to be in the mood for some music talk today I was just wondering what people think about this man. I absolutely love his music his beats and lyrics are straight forward and simple, I know this is the reason why some people find him boring but since when did music have to be "complicated" to be good.

I love his music, its so mellow and relaxing

Not a fan at all. To me, Jack Johnson is the very definition of middle-of-the-road.

All of his songs have the same "sitting on a beach having a good time with my friends" sound.

All of his songs sound the same, but I'll listen to him every once in a while. Not a huge fan though.

I hate the white guy playing acoustic guitar genre. DMAngara90

I kind of agree that about all of his song sound the same with the same vibe but he is real good at it. He knows who he is and want kind of audience he has and I think I he really tries to please them with each of the song but not being to experimental. I apprecciate that from an artist he's a pretty big name guy and is still sticking to his roots.

My first exposure to JJ was when my ball n' chain dragged me to see the Curious George movie a few years ago. Let's just say the combination of cartoon monkey antics and JJ's lullaby-like soundtrack I got knocked the **** out. So yeah his music literally puts me to sleep.

Yea i like him too and used to listen to his music a while back. I recently got into a guy called Jose Gonzalez who has a similar sound but imo a better voice. Here are some samples :)

He sounds like he is heavily influenced by James Taylor which isn't a bad thing pretty good stuff.

I used to think he was alright, but ever since my parents got all the albums and started listening to Jack Johnson pretty much every time they put a record on, I can't stand him. I think I had a a JJ OD :P

That reminds me of futurama.

I like his music because it is easily accessible and family friendly. I always keep his cd's in my car for when I'm driving around my nieces and nephews or one of the many children I chauffeur around because they enjoy it and I don't have to worry about them listening to something they shouldn't be.

His music is surprisingly good.
