So i've always listened to a diverse music group, and I attend music festivals whenever I get a chance (I love Bonnarooooo haha) but anyways I recently have gotten so into Jam Bands. I've always loved Phish, but lately ive tried Widespread Panic, The String Cheese Incident, and (if you count them) My Morning Jacket. I'm really digging all of this music and if anyone has some good ones to suggest please let me know :)

Grateful Dead x 100. But I've actually found that there are a lot of bands that are jam bands live, but a lot of people don't realize it because their studio work is a lot more famous. Here are some of my favorites. The Doors (almost every live version of Light My Fire is about 20 minutes long, it's pretty amazing) Cream (although they only released two live albums, but you can find some amazing bootlegs) Bela Fleck and the Flecktones The Allman Brothers Band Eric Clapton (if you don't mind blues jamming) Jimi Hendrix (one of the best EVER! He really doesn't get enough credit for his incredible jamming) Led Zeppelin (wouldn't really call them a jam band, but they do have some AMAZING jams. On their live album How the West Was Won, they do a 25 minute Dazed and Confused that will blow your mind) The Paul Butterfield Blues Band (once again, they're mostly blues jams) Ravi Shankar (this is definitely different since it's Indian, but a majority of it is improvised and pretty long, so I personally would call it jam music) Santana (yet another AMAZING jam band that doesn't usually get credit for it because no one listens to them live. Lotus is a great album) Ten Years After (only one live album that I know of, but it is quite amazing) And if you don't mind jazz, pretty much all the jazz I have could be called jam music, so check out Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk or John Coltrane. Hope that helps :) But in my opinion, once you get some Grateful Dead, you'll already have the three best of all time (the other two being Phish and Widespread Panic).
