[QUOTE="Devour2Survive"]It makes sense...Japanese women aren't used to seeing such enormous penises.freshgmani guess thats true reminds me of that south park episode

well the Japanese are very fearful of foreigners, one good reason i`ll never bother to visit japan, they might be hostile towards meDante2710They were perfectly fine with me when I went over.

What places did you visit? Tokyo, Osaka, Nara and Kyoto. Osaka was the rudest place but it was New York-business type rudeness, if that makes sense. Everywhere else was awesome, especially Tokyo and Nara.

My sister has lived in Tokyo for 8 years though, and they're still treating her like a tourist even though she speaks fluent Japanese. Racism in Japan goes much deeper than it's American and European counterparts, I'd say. Nara is awesome, the street my hotel was on had a 3 storey arcade, a manga cafe, a KFC and this shop that sold ninja shoes and Moomin....things.
Wow, I can only judge it from this picture:

But it still looks like heaven.

It rained the first day I was there. The one thing you notice about Nara is that there are deer EVERYWHERE and they just wander among the people like pidgeons.
In a kind of "you had to have been there" sort of thing, a pack of them started chasing this girl, who I only assumed was swearing at them and it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
Also, this was the book shop next to my hotel. I was so close to buying a WonderSwan Colour for about a tenner, but decided against it as my bag of goodies was already pretty full. All of this stuff is very cheap, and they had a massive selection...and this was a basic book shop. The specialist places are an even bigger spectacle.
Wtf is that? Why was there a close up in the girls shoulder? Why did the guy have his bandana on backwards? Why didn't she use her pocket monster on the American thugs?
I'M SO CONFUSED! *Runs away crying*

My god, I just realised I've been there. Thanks for reminding me, Nara is awesome.[QUOTE="Dante2710"]well the Japanese are very fearful of foreigners, one good reason i`ll never bother to visit japan, they might be hostile towards menoswearAnyone who's been there wouldn't say that. Seriously. You're right. I lived on Okinawa for a year (Kinser AirBase) and the Japanese people were very nice. Maybe it's different on the main islands?
Hmm, this article is pretty relevant:

"In2005, aUnited Nationsspecial rapporteur on racism and xenophobia expressed concerns about "deep and profound"racism in Japanand insufficient government recognition of the problem.[1][2"]
You say that like there is a society that doesn't sterotype...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clWjfQ_xeAQ&feature=channel_pagege

Yes, they also don't have hate crime laws. However, without sounding like a Japanophile Japan-can-do-no-wrong type jobby, I'd question the means of which those results were found. Firstly it has to be taken into consideration that Japan is a very exclusive country, no other country has the same language, it's an island nation, and immigrants make up less than 2% of the entire population. Secondly it needs to be made clear what constitutes as "racism", seeing as the word is flung around more often than monkey poo at the zoo. Third, they did kind of had two massive bombs dropped on them less than a century ago so...make of that what you will :P Fourth, participant bias such as age need to be accounted for.Hmm, this article is pretty relevant:

I'm sure the UN specialist took these things into consideration. The only indviduals I know who has witness this first hand is my sister and her boyfriend. They've told me that it's very, very hard to be accepted into the Japanese society if you're not Asian looking, have a Japanese name and speak the language fluently. It's a mix of cultural xenophobia and biological racism. Please Log In to post.
