Thats weird considering some of the things I heard about the Japanese and Black People.
there was a black guy who got a job teaching english in Japan and all the children though he was Obama becasue he was black and so did their sensei.
Supposedly it gets worse and people visiting tokyo have been stopped asking if they are Obama, The Japanese aren't that used to black people :P
Best Japanese Advert has to be MORNING RESCUE!!! Got that made me laugh watching Modoka Magica and then that coming up very week
yeah, its the common conception, but maybe its a case by case basis?Thats weird considering some of the things I heard about the Japanese and Black People.

The Japan is xenophobic perception usually comes from xenophobic westerners who know nothing about Japan....kuraimenfkn gaijins.
the dog talked
the **** dog talked
but japan usually likes blacks (especially hip hop heads as they are called apparently)

Is that statement based off of actual experience in the country or blind love for Japan?
It's really not surprising. Bob Sapp is a top grossing guy there, Fedor is a legend, Rampage Jackson was another huge guy there. None of these guys are japanese.

I've been to Japan, I saw many black people in Tokyo more than I see in my home town. I saw a family, black dad, japanese woman and half-black/half-japanese kid at the beach and I was the only one looking at them surprised :P I'm from latinamerica and I've been to many countries, to the US, lived in Europe for one year, to other places in Latinamerica. And I never felt as welcomed in a foreign land as in Japan, everyone was so nice. I went to visit my friend, he's also from Costa Rica, he's dark skinned but has been living in Japan for more than 20 years, he has a japanese wife and two japanese kids. He told me that people in Japan are very reserved but that doesn't mean they are xenophobic. He arrived to Japan in the 80s and he was very well received even though he had trouble communicating because he didn't know japanese and just a little english the japanese people helped him a lot to adapt and he's done very well. Many people have told me that Japan is xenophobic and what all those people have in common is that they've never been to Japan themselves or know japanese people personally. The Japan is xenophobic perception usually comes from xenophobic westerners who know nothing about Japan....kuraimenI follow a guy on YouTube who lives in japan... According to him there are shops/apartments that refuse sell to foreigners... He's from Australia and owns a business over there... He says that although he is a citizen he has to get his (Japanese) wife to buy stuff sometimes...

Yeah I saw those places too, but just very few, if we are going to judge an entire culture by the exceptions and not by the generalities then all cultures are guilty of everything. Besides, like my friend says Japan is very reserved some things they like to keep specifically for their culture. I don't see anything wrong with that or necessarily see it as xenophobic behavior considering how they normally act with foreign people.
That story aside, everything I hear is that Japan is pretty xenophobic.chessmaster1989Wait, since when?
[QUOTE="xTheExploited"]lol kuraimen, you gonna get off japan's dik any time soon?Victorious_FizeUrusai, baka! and a moshi moshi to you. LOL

"...I don't see anything wrong with that or necessarily see it as xenophobic behavior... " Seriously? Could you imagine a shop in the US that refused sell to a legal citizen because they're Japanese? The fact that this guy has to get his wife to make purchases for him(I'll buy that it is a limited area because he wasn't specific about where all he's experienced this) is crazy... Now how serious an issue is it in hindsight? Well he did start a business and build a family there... But this is very xenophobic behavior...
[QUOTE="LazerTurtle"]If you are "white" you get treated like **** in japan. I watched a youtube video where they told someguy who got off the plane, a tourist to go home.campzorwhat about "olive" complexion? :P
More accepting, stop acting like they treat foreigners like gods.
