Good god man, there is sooo much. Miles Davis , Buddy Rich (drummer), Les paul (guitar), wynton marsalis (trumpet), are some of the greatest.
Buddy Rich - Cotton tail (performerd by Neil Peart)
This is one of my favs.

im listening to miles davis human nature its pretty good
RushMetallica has listed some pretty good ones, but if you're looking for some more recent, different jazz, check out these guys
Terence Blanchard (recently played at Yoshis, amazing player) Christian Scott (I believe this artist will be found most appealing to people new to jazz, his CD "ANTHEM" is a blend of rock, and even rap in one song, and it simply is one of the most unique albums I've heard in a while)
I think you will enjoy those two artists, I would say listen to Christian Scott first
I'll actually check these out as well thanks.RushMetallica has listed some pretty good ones, but if you're looking for some more recent, different jazz, check out these guys
