Given that Jeb has raised $103 million and to date has spent $50 million, and continues to poll at between 4-6%, should he just throw in the towel? Many political analysts predicted he wouldn't be in the campaign this long and the rest are predicting that the new year will bring a final conclusion to his presidential campaign.

You can argue his connection to the Bush legacy, or the fact that political outsiders like Carson and Trump are feeding the American people's dissatisfaction with government, but clearly his campaign isn't working.

In the interest of saving money and creating a more focused GOP, wouldn't suspending his campaign sooner, rather than later, be a more prudent move?

With his utterly embarrassing performance, I'm surprised he still hasn't pulled out from the race. He doesn't even deserve that 4-6% plateau, as he got nothing to boast other than the Bush name, which he ironically insulated from his campaign to protect it from his brother's infamy. You look at him in the debates and in any public forum and you only see a terrified puppy continuously tripping over his own gaffes and blunders of which the baby killing one is my favorite:

Loading Video...

You can clearly see how he cringed right after he made that imbecility, thinking to himself "wtf did I just say? what kind of an awkward situation have I put myself in?".

He has vowed to be the "joyful tortoise" (his words not mine) and trudge along. We'll see what happens, but he has had a pretty terrible year in terms of the polls. Personally I think that as long as he's still allowed on the debate stage he will stick around.

Would like to know who are these "many analyst"?

No vote has been cast, to drop now is unnecessary. The field will inevitably winnow after Iowa and New Hampshire, he can reassess the state of his campaign after that.

He tries to appeal to others as a moderate who leans slightly to the right to get votes. No motivation or direction either.

I do not agree with several of the views which he expressed in the national republican debates thus far. I think his record as governor of Florida is a major factor in public disapproval.

The sad thing is that he is significantly more qualified and, despite the blunders, a better person than Trump.

Haven't followed Jeb too much but he seems way too much like the previous Bush; likable but dumb.

He is the least offensive Republican candidate by far. But he just sucks at running for president.

Btw, feel the bern

I pretty much agree with your assessment. I still wouldn't vote for him because we don't need another dumb person as president (Bush or otherwise, though I've heard Jeb did significantly better in school than George). Despite his overall intellect being a governor gives you far better experience to be the president.

Hillary on the other hand has a resume without governor in it, but still one that has work with congress in it, experience as a lawyer, experience with foreign affairs, and experience as a philanthropist. She's not as quick on her feet as her husband in terms of debate though.

It isn't going to matter.. The Republican party is fucked.. Trump on one end is driving the party into the ground in which the Republicans are trying to stage a coup against him.. Meanwhile the next runner up, Carson, is threatening to leave the GOP.. And on top of that, every single major contender has said batshit crazy stuff that has alienated any moderate voter in the general election.. It says a lot about a party in which their icon, President Reagan, wouldn't win in a primary because he would be deemed too liberal..

Yeah Hilary has about as much experience as you can hope for; maybe not in specific areas, but it's still political experience.

As far as her debate skills, I guess you are right, her performance has been sub-par; though the brushing of her shoulder during the Benghazi bullshit was pretty awesome. Being able to sit there for 10+ hours listening to those idiots was an impressive feat.

I rather have Jeb Bush in the lead for the Republican race than the other republicans like trump, cruz and carson which are way worse than him. I do think he has awful opinions to. All the republican candidates in this race are awful anyway.

Jeb Bush doesn't seem like he actually wants to be President. I feel like he's running because he feels pressured.

@GreySeal9: That may be part of it. One of the funny things is that I remember before the campaigning started and it was almost a sure bet he'd run, people were commenting on how Jeb was/is, "the smartest of the Bush family." I don't know about that, but he clearly isn't the most likable, given the public's reaction, (or it could just be an over saturation of Bush family members in the political arena.)

Unless Rubio falters, I just don't see Jeb being the establishment candidate in this GOP race. If anything, I think it is the money that will keep him in it longer than others, so if he wants to burn through it to play a waiting game, it might help him. But, as long as Rubio is in the running, I don't think he has a chance. Rubio burned him too bad in the last debates and that is etched in the minds of all moderates.

I think so too. There's a conspiracy going around that the reason the debates have such a low cutoff is the party backers/donors want Bush on stage lol.

Is Bush still in this race? :) I'm rooting for Cruz and Trump to be the last two standing.

I don't see Carson lasting long....he hasn't really been in the spot light or under scrutiny. However its kind of disturbing to see him leading Hillary in head to head polls *shudders*.

Cruz? I didn't mention Carson. I think he's toast.

The power rankings I've seen have Cruz, Trump, and Rubio as the three most likely to win (most of them in that order)
