I don't understand how people can find the show funny. I mean, either these people understand that they're being laughed at, or they're just really being themselves - in both cases it's just sad. My housemate tried to turn me onto the show, but I couldn't last more than twenty minutes of it.

When you get past the fact that they are stupid "guidos", then they are actually pretty likable as characters.
I've only started watching it recently and Vinny is my favorite guy on the show. He's normal, feels somewhat relateable and not orange. Although that changed this episode. :( :P

Pauly seems to be a pretty down to earth guy imo.

haha.. yeah Vinny is the most normal. When I first started watching, Vinny was the most likable... but the others kind of grow on you the more you watch it.
No. It's everything that's wrong with entertainment and "culture" in the USA. The fact that people actually enjoy watching these idiots, and that these idiots get paid at all, is pathetic and a sad testament to the current condition of a substantial portion of society.
I hate the show, I hate talentless losers becoming so popular and making a living off being d-bags. They're not funny, they're not entertaining, and they are an example of how simple minded todays youth is.

There are so many other quality tv shows out there...Why would anyone gravitate towards watching a group of superficial **** who do nothing more than drink, have sex and obsess over their body image. What makes them a douche bag? Not sure if serious? You watch Jersey Shore regularly, and you don't understand why people see them as douches? They're just doing their own thing. So what. They act different than you. So what. To be honest, some people in this thread are coming off as more of a douche bag than the guys in the show. All of the condescending viewpoints... sounds really bitter. If they were going out, mean-muggin, acting hard, trying to start fights, looking for trouble, etc... then yeah, I would think they were douche bags. But they go out and have a good time and don't start any touble. I just don't get the hate.
