Yah, mowing lawns is a good place to start. Or just general yard work, if you're up for it.Mow someone's lawn or walk their dog. If people trust you enough you can also baby sit.

I'd wait untill you're 14. Then you can get your parents to sign consent forms at places that will hire 14 year olds. I used to work at McDonalds part time when I was in highschool and contrary to popular belief, it's great for your first job. They are flexible with students and hire at ages as early as 14, you can chose your hours easily compared to other tight jobs, and you learn communication skills, multi-tasking skills, and how to cooperate as a team. If you have a good reputation at McDonalds and decide to apply for a different job later on, you will have a great chance of being hired because of your referrences and skills you develop.
Cool thanks everyone. How can i start walking dogs. I cant mow lawns i dont live in a place with alot of lawns. So what do i do to start these services and what other services could i possibly doPS3Fanboy7I used to knock on neighbors doors to see if they needed anything such as lawn mowing, weeding, etc. After a while, word of mouth spreads and it comes by more easily.

Depends on where you live. If you live in the big city that might be a bit hard and probably unsafe to do. Do your parents have friends that need someone else to look after their pets? Another place to check is at church (or place of worship) and talk to the folks there and see if you can post your service at the announcement board. Personally I think referral from someone you know works the best
Woah at 14 :o I'm 14 now and I'm in classes two years above my grade level (Gifted and Talented) you think I could get a job at McDonalds or Jack in the Box (prefer J in the B cuz i live closer to one)I'd wait untill you're 14. Depends on your interest, I would say if you are into science go check out your local science center. I used to work at one and it sure is a nice addition to your resume. I've met some very bright kids there too, I think one went to Stanford with full scholarship and another one got offered to go to Yale and John Hopkins (she was into Biology if I recall correctly) but ended up not going because of lack of fundings...
Or you can volunteer at local library or join some YMCA club or something.... a very good chance to get to know more people and these people might be able to help you find a job in the future.
your parents won't let you do any chores? Do they still pay you even when you don't do anything? Try to automatically Take out the trash, wash the dishes, or vacumm the house without them having to tell you to do that. OR you can do what the first poster that replied to you said. coolkid93Parents dont trust me because i already did chores 2 and never actually did them. And anyways it was like clean your room and make your bed right when you wake up, take out trash, clean the backyard every week and i only got 5 dollars a month
