i was thinking of purchasing the JSRF(jet set radio future) soundtrack, but the only copy of it i can find is an original japanese CD, so i was wondering if a japanese CD will play in an american CD player or comp, thanksĀ  inadvance

Yes, music CDs are region free. I have purchased a few Japanese relesed anime sountracks and they work just fine. The only downside is in reading the song names if you can't read Japanese.
