I can only foresee good things to come out of this.

There isn't really any "teaching" going on; all they have done is programmed robots with the ability to identify initial parameters - that not being detected is a "good thing", and how not to be detected - and have then left the robot to carry out its commands. When a robot spontaneously starts giving itself commands that it was never programmed to even have, that's when Judgment Day is one step closer. Or at least one step closer to a Geth uprising. :P
This is pretty cool.
the day they make robots that look like humans and have the strength of 100 men with built in lasers is when i'll start worrying.
Why do scientists feel the need to try and recreate human emotions...Theres no way there smart if they dont see how it can backfire.RYDERFTNUnless they have a giant "OFF" button, then the robots don't stand a chance.

Considering the world state of affairs, a robot takeover might actually be better.

I for one welcome our new robot overlords.

It sucks? I find it a fascinating investigation into human psychology.
You know what? I am getting quite sick of your sunny disposition towards scientific advancements. Don't you see that this changes everything? EVERYTHING![QUOTE="GabuEx"][QUOTE="Link334"]This sucks :|clayron

Deception is not an emotion. And if a human can honestly be tricked by artificial intelligence as it is right now we deserve to be smitten.FudgycakesExactly, the superior race will triumph.

This. I don't think it is even humanly possible to make a computer that can learn, at least not in the way that computers are designed now.
laughed out loud in real life... "due to their lack of ability to learn from sci fi films" :DScientist, due to their lack of ability to learn from science fiction films, have now taught robots the art of deception.

[QUOTE="Fudgycakes"][QUOTE="GazaAli"]We did not learn from MassEffect anything.GazaAliDon't protect the council during the attack? No, AIs are dangerous, AKA the Geth. The Geth aren't dangerous. The heretics have had an error in their programming that makes them think that the Reapers will bring a higher existence. The true Geth are those that live peacefully among everyone else, and attempt to understand the universe as we do. Hell, if it wasn't for the Geth's naturally benevolent nature Commander Shepard would have never saved the world a 2nd time.
Did anyone read the caption to the picture?
The black robot intentionally knocked down the red marker to deceive the red robot into thinking it was hiding down the left corridor. Instead, the black robot is hiding inside the box in the centre pathway.
Not the red marker!

Or at least one step closer to mankind becoming God, for at that point we would have created sentience. And our robot servants would see us as God, and serve us with utter devotion.

I will not lie; I am looking forward to this.I for one welcome our new robot overlords.GswSiri'd like to remind them that as a trusted member of the media i can be useful in rounding up other humans to toil in their underground robot factories.
