Jury Duty Selection....

I have to go to a jury duty selection tom., Im a student and I really dont want to get picked because itll get in the way of my studies, so how do I get out of it and what have u guys done when in this situation? Thanks for the help

If you make it to the point where you're selected from the jury pool and have to be asked questions to determine if you're a reliable juror, say,"I can tell when a man is lying just by looking at him." That should get you weeded out :P

Alternatively, you could say that you are a Jehovah Witness or something and that it is against your religious/moral background to sit in judgement of someone else. In most states, they'll let you off of Jury duty for that.

But it's rather unlikely that you'll actually get picked from the jury pool anyway, since they tend to avoid young people in the juries.

If you don't mind casting pride to the wind, pretend to be biased against a certain skin color/gender/sexuality/religion/socioeconomic background.

If you get to the interview stage then just say you believe that everyone is guilty until proven innocent. Further explain that they have to have been doing somethng illegal to have gotten arrested and put on trial. That worked very well for me several times.

Just state that you are a student. Seems to get people out of jury duty here.

Yea I'e got out of Jury duty three time, by saying I was a student. So its no big deal.

Coincidentally, I just got a jury summons too. On the card they sent me, there was a section about exemptions and being enrolled in college was one of them. I just had to circle said reason and mail the card in. I assume there's a similar course of action you can take.Notsogr8one

so i went today and ended up not having to do anything since there were a couple plea agreements...
