I saw them last night-it was amazing.
Billy is so intense, and the new guitarist and bassist are very suitable replacements.
I have a thread regarding purchasing a tour shirt somewhere other than the venue because i wasn't able to get one at the concert i attended.
So, Whitesnake, do you think you could ask the vendor/guy selling shirts at your show if you can get them anywhere online or in a store?
If you get to ask, post what you found out in my thread and enlighten me; i'm desperate for a souvenier of that awesome experience.

matisrock
Right on man, I really appreciate it.
You're really lucky too-i saw them at a 9-band festival, so they only played for an hour and a half. Chances are you'll get to see them for a least two anda half hours; be on the look-out for a great acoustic song, lots of jamming, and a ridiculous light show.
And I was a late buyer too-4 days before!
I'm shocked no one has given the typical sarcastic OT response.A1B2C3CAL
quick sell it before your parents ask if your gay!
Rock on dude. I love the pumpkins. Didn't they break up in 1999 because Billy Corgan thought the world was coming to an end?shamuk
I thought that they broke up in 1999 because record sales had been steadily falling and Billy Corgan is a whiny little douche.
As in, his album flops, he blames the crappy albums on his bandmates being asses, and then breaks up the band.
He then starts a new band (Zwan). The album flops even worse than the worst of his Smashing Pumpkins albums. He then blames it on his bandmates being asses, and breaks up the band after ONE album.
He then tries to start up a solo career by releasing a solo album. It flopped. Not sure who he blamed for that one sucking. Would've been funny if he blamed himself. But I'm sure he didn't though, because he's Billy Corgan.
Anyway, now there's a new Smashing Pumpokins album out. And not long after that one flops, I'm sure he'll blame it on his bandmates and break up The Smashing Pumpkins again.
Jesus Christ, I hate Billy Corgan.
Having said that, I actually really like the new Smashing Pumpkins album. It's pretty solid. There are some crappy songs, but overall I think that the album stands up pretty well to the other Smashing Pumpkins albums.
And hell, I loved Zwan too. Sure it was lighter and poppier than earlier Smashing Pumpkins albums, but that's almost a bonus since it means I don't have to listen to lyrics such as "living makes me sick, so sick I wish I'd die".
Then ****ing kill yourself, you son of a *****, and shut the **** up.
Anyway, Zwan was cool because I thought that it largely dropped a lot of the stupid dumbass "teenage rage" crap and just plain rocked. Zwan's album just plain rocked. I love the hell out of it. Corgan and Chamberlin were just as good in Zwan as they've ever been, plus I don't have to listen to them ****ing whine about dumbass ****. And the song Jesus I/Mary Star of the Sea absolutely stands up to any of the songs on their other albums, and is infinitely better and more awesome than anything on Gish, Siamese Dream, or anything after Mellon Collie.
Wow MrGeezer....that was quite a rant.
You have to agree though-while their lyrics may have been a bit whiny, their sound was powerful and still is, and the band (then and now) have unbelievable chemistry when they're live.
Regardless of lyrical prowess, Billy Corgan is also an undeniably talented guitarist.
