Just broke a nail... : (

OK. I want to be completely straight forward with you all.

I don't understand why men don't understand the concept of a broken nail. Just tonight I broke my nail during dinner with friends, and I exclaimed a little and looked a bit upset. The guys just laughed at me, "oh it's just a nail", lol.

It takes so much time to grow a nail out right. It's like accidently getting a bad hair cut, and having to let it grow back in.

Why don't some people get that?

Because it is a nail. And it's just hair.

I rip my nails off all the time. I do it when I get bored. Women really do care to much about their nails. Its not like guys care if a womens nails are perfect. They go for other things if you get what im saying.airg6

It's just a nail. I'm a girl and believe me, I break my nails all the time. They get long and may look pretty, but it's only a nail. They DO grow back. Might be a while, but they do grow back. Try taking more care of them, making them stronger. Your nails might be weak, which causes them to break. *Shrugs.* Mine grow pretty quickly, however.ayanami_rei

If an "exclaim" is the extant of your complaining than I completely understand. No one likes breaking or wreaking something they're taking care of (or in the caseof plansts and animals having them die).

At the end of the day though, it is just some calcified something-or-other on the end of your finger. Be thankful it isn't your neck.

I dont see the big deal unless you rip down to the nail bed. Other than that its cheap to get em fixed. I have gel nails and never have a problem with them breaking. Plus my nail salon peeps say I have great nails too so I guess breakage is rare on my end.

Sucks for you I guess.
