Yeah I know I'm late, but it was the best movie I've seen in a while. I felt sad for teh Prawns.

I've never seen it, but it sounds like a shame on you evil humans/white people movie. You know, either the aliens represent blacks or other minorites or they represent the earth. And the bad humans are being mean to them.herpderp9000
I hate that kind of movie as well, and "District 9" does have a bit of that tone, but it doesn't come anywhere near the arrogance and hypocrisy of "Avatar". At least the guy in "District 9" didn't like living as an alien. The guy in "Avatar", on the other hand, is shown rejecting his filthy American/Caucasian humanity so that he can go live with the blue Indians who are at one with nature and whose crap doesn't stink.
District 9 is a great movie. It does have that "humans are bad" tone especially when it comes to MNU scientists and soldiers. But it wasn't solely towards white people, lets not forget the Nigerian gang who referred the aliens as "demons" and they wanted to gain their powers (aka the epic alien weaponry) by eating them. All that aside, its a great movie. Reminds me of Resistance in some ways :P

 It's late, I lauged more than I should haveI enjoyed it greatly. We need more movies with Sharlto Copley in them. :xSeraphimGoddess
I'll watch any movie he's in as long as he says the "F" word at least three times.
Great movie, I need to see it again, only seen it once at the theaters - I went to see Takers yesterday and I need something to wipe that trash from my memory.
Definitely one of my favorite sci fi films, and I think it should have been a contender for Best Picture. It blew me away the first time I saw it, and was more enjoyable than Avatar for me.
[QUOTE="Hexagon_777"]Great movie, but I expected more considering that it's from the same guy who directed The Lord of the Rings. :PlocopathoHe only produced it tho. Didn't write or direct.Oh well, great movie nevertheless!

Except he didn't betray them.. He betrayed a corporation, not humankind..
wikus was a amazing actor. the movie would have been nothing without him. his accent is second to none.

wouldn't you? lol i know i wouldhonestly one of my favorite movies this past decade.
the growth of the human character in that movie was awesome, the action excellent, and the social commentary was blunt but entirely believable and not preachy at all imo.
Wikus "Sweetie Man" Van De Merwe is now one of my favorite fictional characters.
Here's a video of him trying to find Charlize Theron:

That was a great movie, but it got off to a bad start with the news coverage format for the begin was kind of boring.
It was ok. Didn't like it that much though.super_mario_128Same here. In fact, I found some of the protagonist's metamorphosis to be quite nauseating.
